Here are some I like:

Android:
Bacon Reader -> Reddit views (apparently Reddit Sync is better)
Skype
Tasker -> Automation on your android
Nova Launcher
Google Keep
BBC News -> For news
Minimalistic Text
SpeedCube Timer -> Cube timer
WhatsApp -> SMS messaging over internet

I use reddit is fun on android. I haven't personally used Cerberus but I hear it's pretty niffty. It allows you to turn your phone on and off, enable GPS and take pictures/video from your computer I believe. In case your phone is misplaced or stolen.

still using a k320i, so my interest in apps is 0. read right over that part lol, just saw windows.

Open Door- Proxy
Waze - GPS/Traffic navigation
Yelp - If you want to try new places to eat
Yahoo Weather - Nice weather app. Has radar, shows cool windmill animation for wind, and tells you extended forecast and % chance of rain.

They may have these for other platforms, but I wouldn't know.
