Drug Test for Interview

I don't get what's strange about drug testing at a major retail store. You're working with the public. I don't agree with the prohibition of these drugs, but since it's the law, and the liability aspect, I can't see why they wouldn't test.

If you don't get the job cause you fail the drug test, maybe you should rethink your priorities in life. Eh? I've got way too much to lose to mess around with that shit

Lolz to all the people on here wondering why such a place makes you take a drug test. Any job anyone can get should be appreciated(Meaning you do what it takes to get that job, whether that's a drug test, background check or whatever).
And as fiction stated before, you are working with the general public, so it makes sense they do not want potheads working in their stores.

I am in no way against smoking but also as stated you need to have your priorities straight before you apply. If you know you are applying and it is maybe a sure thing that you'll get an interview.... then do not smoke.

Just some fyi. there is still a big chance you are going to come up positive on a piss test. Even if you had used that detox shit there is always a chance to test pos.

I'm still not seeing how this preserves a company's image in anyway if they're not really performing random drug test of all their employees on an ongoing basis... The system seems highly retarded... You're not weeding out (no pun intended) the new applicants who take drugs at all if they know about it as is the case with the OP in this thread....

In the retail stores that I have worked in you take the initial drug test after your successful interview. I have never taken a drug test and then not got the job. Same with background checks.

I have never heard of a retail store giving random drug test but they do have the right to, they make you sign a paper when you take the initial drug test.

In the store I work at now they don't do random drug tests. They do however drug test you if you are hurt on the badly injured on the job like going to the hospital kind of bad.

I don't need to get my priorities straight, I smoked 2 weeks ago when I didn't know I was even applying for the job, and haven't smoked since then. Weeds supposed to stay in your system for 4 weeks, which is why I am asking whether I would be able pass it based on my circumstances, and if not, tips to improve my chances (tl;dr read the first facking post)
