The closest we have to that is Reborn... which is at a standstill.
Even if they do launch, it will fall on its face now, everybody has moved on and the SRO scene is too small now.
At most it would have 150 players, people would get sick of grinding and quit as usual. ZOMG NO 500X RATES?!

But yeah... SRF needs a server.. Revelations [I think?] was also like SRF's server and died pretty fast also.

You dont need a SRF community server for that, gather the community in a server that you think would fit.

People have tried for years, always end up spread out. how many srf gyys always look out for a pserver, or wait on one! all of us would use srf's server, and generating new players wouldnt be hard!
too many pservers rely on high rate nubs, or pay to wins, or the hardcore legits who only want old xian or respective isro friends. the latter is fine, but which server actually does anything to become a true game server and not just a lame pserver clone like the rest, waiting for recycled players to try it out then quit!
i could start a gaming website tomorrow, within a month have hundreds using it daily, and thousands viewing it, even the ad revenue would cover server costs. a full website for a pserver, in depth armoury pages, game related social networking, think rev6 but acting as your profile, or a facebook style feature linking everything and everyone. someone just needs to use some imagination, and not just dl server files and release and hope for the best. /rant over lol

edit: sro is old, but has an epic core system crying out for someone to bring it back to life! a true pserver will attract a new generation of sro players, fact! its not an ancient game, isromis dead. the fundamentals of the game are absolutely fine!

We were fixing bugs and patching skill balance every day. People didnt like that, aswell as another server which allowed goldbotting opened at that time and most of the people rushed there.

Things didn't fail the server is still up and running. The fact that there is a lower population is totaly misleading as for other P-server's i've played on you got 5 bots for 1 player this is all real players and its active as hell. Specialy BGH.

A few great things are that you need to TRADE to be able to make money no money drops from mobs except jobcave so you can't goldbot and the job cave is moniterd i've got 95% of BGH to play this server and it was hard but they all Farking love it!

1. After 1 week server gets boring. That's when you're FF 85, with all extensions and FB set +5. At that point only thing left to do is trading.
2. Retard in GM's team who single-handedly made at least 30% of people quit. (flaming everyone everywhere, people getting killed by him during FW. Stuff like that)
3. The balance. It was advertised as "perfectly balanced pvp, any class can kill any" or something like that. It's not the case, for example i didn't saw warrior on that server who would be happy with that so called balance. All those random big changes after server release prove that nothing was actually tested.

Killing players during FW. I suppose you mean when FW was taken over for the first time, I came out of invis, people went pink on me, we fooled around and they got killed a couple of times.

We tested every build in pvp, we had different people come in and pvp aswell with 3rd tier +5 fb sets, biggest problem in game was that some players were clearly better than others, had FB sets, were higher level etc and ended up owning other people. Ive never flamed a single person in game, I was the person who answered to every question and every suggestion, passed on problems to Perry to fix in the DB, before I learned how to do it myself. Globals i saw in game indicated something different than friendly fooling around with pink. You're not only talking shit back to people who talk shit about you. You're insulting people who aren't talking shit without even realizing it or maybe you are just that malicious. I could prove all that with quotes and screens, but i'm way too lazy for it and really... why bother ?
Matter of fact is that you've missed your chance of making cool server for numerous reasons. No matter what features you have, population is what attracts new players, 20 online won't attract anyone.

Personally i think that all your testing was limited to that pvp video, nothing else would explain drastic balance changes after server release.

Globals? Must have been the people saying how a GM is "siding" on an union. What happened during FW was one of the unions were grouping up to attack, we were standing there watching and they were accusing the opposing union of multiclients and all sorts of other epic exploits they had.
We disagreed, called nonsense, observed and it turned out that they were simply outnumbered. However, what did people take away from that? Oh a GM is disagreeing with me even though im 100% right, lets accuse him of corruption and all sorts of other types of shit in globals.

I pvped a lot, and I know whether the player is good or not, He indeed pretty good in switching and timing of all 4 weapons but in the end, his damage is no where near to kill.

I didn't play on this server, but I'm going to tell you only one thing Qynchou:
If there is something wrong with only him, its him. If there is something wrong with everybody, its probably you.

Also, GM should never talk shit to anyone, no matter what they do. They are your customers and you have to do anything in your power to keep them playing on your server. By these comments I've read guess you've done pretty shitty job yourself.

Actually Dutchy, you guys came after most of these events happen, so you would only know around 10% of the real story why people really left Venture.

First was banning Banning guild leaders cuz they used bot( I don't really blame the admins, they did, what should be done)

People got in low morale cuz huge name leaving the server (Sanctuary Guild) They left around 2 days after they won FW mostly along with everyone in their union at that time, then comes the daily skill patching which messed up mostly all people during that time, then the numbers decreased over time, cuz of no events or anything that keeps the players busy aside from trading.

Valestia open at the right time, when there was turmoil in Venture, so that's pretty much it.

I do think that Qynchou didn't realized that he was insulting some reply/threads until people point that out, but instead of cooling it down, he fuels it even more. One thing I can advise for him is that being polite does not mean kissing anyone's ass, just state your logical reply in a polite manner.

Although Qynchou is arrogant, he really didn't make that much players quit like "LetMeBeLikeYou" said, I'd say 10 players max.

But still I'd say it's the best private server I've played. I really do hope they can win players back with their so called "Big Update" which may never come =(

im not surprised to see people moaning that warriors are under powered when on almost every server I have ever played, warriors were by far the most OP class almost every time.
The only time a warrior was not so OP is when a warlock with stun lock could stun lock anyone to death.

ive known qynchou for a while and i dont think he hates me yet so that isnt too much an issue ^^

Actually warrior is not the most OP build in sro, Rogue is. I was never a fan of EU chars but I still say that warriors in Venture is very weak in pvp.

Also I have nothing against Qynchou, we never had verbal clash before, I'm just constantly reading forums, I just dislike how he address his reply to people that doesn't share the same ideals as him. Most of the time, he is talking shit first that's when flaming starts.

I didn't complain about banning of bots, I just answered the question why poeple left Venture.

1. Well, nothing surprising in getting banned for botting on legit server. Thing is that often not only that 1 guy was leaving, but bunch of his friends who didn't bot. So this had bigger impact than it should.
2. I checked and there was only 1 update during last month. They used to be every day for first 1-2 weeks, not only with skills but with bunch of stuff. It feels like they gave up.
3 All i can say, get to know that guy little more and you will change your mind. Or analyze old topics.

On server without changes good warrior will be controlling rogue 95% of the time. You will be stuck healing yourself unable to attack and waiting till you die from crits. Rogues are OP on venture because of how nerfed warriors are.

im legit, always have and always will be... i dont care if people laugh at me for being legit, ive been laughed at by thousands of bots, ive been targetted by guilds for being legit (I left uranus because i was getting killed when i left a town by bot guilds following me outside)

since when did the legit community care about what botters think? surely there is a better reason to this.

Silkroad Salvation was full of people who hated NB and Fly for their hypocrisy act in venus running the most successful legit guild whilst also botting for gold and yet differences were set aside to play together.

myth was the same... the amount of turks and egy's that tried to ruin that server was insane but many stayed as a unit just to show others how the legits rape in pvp...

These times are over and this is why I never play other SRO Servers except Myth / Venture and playing around with some Models.

You won't see a huge amount of Legits anymore like it was back before some Years because the Games purpose is/was always to suck the Money out of your Pocket.

Being a Bot is the new Legit Player (Botting is too mainstream now, that's what I wanted to explain).

You turn the Bot on and nobody gives a shit anymore not even some Legits because they know it's useless to do a shit if you're not the Owner of the Server.
All you can do is reporting at current Servers but the outcome is always the Owner, if he bans Bot Players or not.

Honestly, I never understood why Peoples joined in the first place here when they wanted to Bot, the Rules clearly stated that Botting is forbidden so why embrace the trouble if you simply could join a Bot Server?

True..SRO as we all know it is dead. Legit servers don't last long.
There could have been a crowded legit server if Chernobyl didn't release the files... SRF could have bought them and ran their legit own server.
Thanks to him we're stuck with 1,000+ dead bot infested servers that die days later.

Even Myth [the relaunch] is going to allow botting as far as I'm aware because legit servers don't pull enough players.

Unfortunately bots will be on every server, too bad the legit iSRO 60-70 cap and ECSRO [pre-sibibot release] days are long gone.

Maybe one day I'll find a server that's worth a damn.

This'll take long, Venture is perfect if you see it in the Way like Peoples told "A simple Server just with 5x-10x Rates would be enough" in 2010 well then it is.

The thing that still pisses me off about the Community itself is, everyone wanted a bit higher Rates, getting rid of Bots/Goldbots and enjoy Silkroad how it was meant to be.

What now? 98% of the Community Bots, half of it has their own Goldbots and on top of that, everyone plays on 500x Rate Servers.

Silkroad was never made for High Rates, you can see that in the Item Mall.
Several Items like EXP Tickets and such things are useless (They brought the most Money for Joymax next to Premium and Globals/Dresses or whatever exists in there...)

By raising the Rates over 5x, those Items become useless and because of that, a Server is missing Money which leads to the Death of it.

I heard a nice Sentence from an old Player on ECSRO (Dunno the Name anymore....) : "If those Files are released, the Community will die as the Game will" (Guess that was like that...)

That Player was right at the end, when I see the Community now ... you can't make your own Content anymore otherwise Peoples will rip it off from the PK2 Files and claim it as if they made that Content themselves.

What could save a Server now is by having another PK2 Structure, instead of having BMS Files you could take .DAE Files (COLLADA Format for Models), instead of having .BAN Files you could take .FBX Files (Animation Files).
So if other Server Owner want to steal those Files they can't use them and just trash these...

The same example happened on Venture, Venture had those nice Dress Items and someone figured out how to convert these "Models" correctly so you can implement these on your Server.

What happens next? Whoops, released everywhere ... Sad Community.
