The only racing game I have ever enjoyed was NFS Carbon, not a fan of racing sims and the NFSs after that have been disappointing.

I think Forza is very arcade-y compared to GT5, but that's why I love it. It's not NFS arcady, but it doesn't bombard you with simulation features either.

Neither are simulators, both are arcade style but with a good bit of realism.
I'd say they're similar to BF3, bits of realism, but not anywhere near being a simulator, such as ARMA.
