What, do you think? xD
Is this really human? DNA tests on six-inch skeleton of 'alien-looking' creature with over-sized head prove it was actually human claim scientists in new documentary
•10 years ago the bones of a six-inch skeleton with a large head were found in Chile
•There was speculation that the Atacama humanoid, nicknamed Ata, was either an aborted fetus, a monkey or even an alien
•Now scientists at Stanford University have carried out conclusive DNA tests which have found the remains are those of a mutated human
It was hailed as proof of alien life, a mummified visitor from another planet.
Ten years after the remains of a six-inch ‘space alien’ were first discovered
they have been confirmed as ‘human’ by Stanford scientists in a new documentary film Sirius.

Human-Alien Hybrid? lulz

Re: "6-Inch Alien" is human.
First time hearing about this, but that pics looks fake to me. I doubt it would be an alien although he had would be tough to explain if it is real.

Props to chrisorg for the sig <3
Re: "6-Inch Alien" is human.
A DNA test doesn't really show anything when there's a possibility of the subject being of extraterrestrial origin. There have been similar alien bodies found though and they still don't seem to be all that convincing. Even though I believe aliens exist.

Extraterrestrials most certainly do exist, but I doubt they've already reached us.

I feel like if they did exist, we wouldn't learn about it from finding a mummified skeleton.
I like to picture it would be more War of the Worlds style.

You know it really baffles me. Why on earth do people always imagine an alien to look just like us, but with a big fucking head? If anything, a being from another planet should look nothing like us! Imagine the scope and diversity of life on this planet alone and how different each creature is from the other. Now what are the chances of life forms on other planets looking just like us? It even has a bloody rib cage! Let me guess, it likes MTV too? It's clearly a hoax >_>

That's exactly how I think. An alien could look like anything. And if you consider the idea of multiple universes, the possibilities for existing are endless.
Bartic wrote:Extraterrestrials most certainly do exist, but I doubt they've already reached us.
Now that's another thing. I believe we have been visited on numerous occasions in the past and there has been interaction. Kinda what they talk about in Ancient Aliens. And there is a bunch of intriguing "evidence" that points to that kind of thing.

The big head is a sign of intelligence. Human's heads have also been evolving to grow increasingly bigger. If an alien is to somehow be found on our planet that would mean they have a great technology (in order to arrive here). If they have great technology, they're probably smarter than us, and their heads are probably relatively big...

Oh. But the brain can be anywhere. Some insects have their brain in their sort of main body area as well.

hmm doesn't it? I know there's more to it than just size, but wouldn't a bigger brain at least offer more options, perhaps more memory space? Aren't elephants (whom I suppose have larger brains than humans) known for having pretty good memory?

Couldn't really say lol. It was just my understanding that its how it works, now how big it is.
The human brain is obviously smaller than Elephants, and we can have a lifetime of memories stored, as well as greater intelligence.

The sperm whale has an 8kg brain. DAM THEM BOYS BE NERDS!
But in all seriousness there's no definitive link between the size of a brain and the functionality of it. Yet people see these big head aliens and associate them to us, but simply more "evolved". It's a novel concept at best and one that Hollywood has abused for years. Do I think life exists on other planets? Sure. There's no doubt in my mind it does. Bacteria, incredibly primitive life forms, hell, there could even be some advanced ones out there. But do they look like us but with big head and fly oval shaped spacecrafts? (seriously, why oval? I never understood the practicality of it) The chances are slim to none if you ask me.
tldr; the classical imagine of an alien is just an image created by and perpetuated by the media

It's like vikings. Never have they actually had horned helmets (that would be very impractical in battle) and yet they are depicted as such.

What I basing it off of specifically was something I read somewhere. Supposedly humans evolved the way they did due to a to a mutation in their genes that changed up their jaw structure, allowing the skull to expand and thus for more brain matter. If this is indeed true, than apparently brain size has...something to do with it. Like I said, it clearly not all but I don't think it's unrelated.

Re: "6-Inch Alien" is human.
The thought of Earth being the only planet with intelligent life is kind of absurd to me. I think there's many even more advanced civilizations out there, probably no where close to us of course, but still.
I mean our galaxy alone has roughly 300 billion stars, each possibly having planets, possibly harboring life. Add that to the visible universe having roughly 125 billion galaxies..
Just imagine a civilization out there that could travel between stars quickly, taking 1 hour. In our galaxy alone traveling to each star in 1 hour a piece would take 34 million years to go to them all.

I'm pretty sure that there will never be a spaceship that could travel between stars in just 1 hour. In order to accelerate to the speed of light, a particle with mass (also called rest mass) needs an infinite energy.

Doesn't matter, the speed of light is too slow for space travel anyway.

they have been theories for working warp drives though. Something about shortening to path by warping space-time into a fold I think.

I think we'll definitely find a way a to travel across space eventually, even if it isn't the most practical one... Cryosleep + timetravel D:

^Yeah, I know that one. The problem is, it requires a negative energy density, which requires some exotic particles (I don't know which, this is what I've heard) that haven't been discovered yet. Long story short, it's impossible, at least for now.
