well.. america's education system usually looks something like this:Aventus wrote:Penfold, you think Americans think we won the war with nukes we know it was basically a way to shut the war down completely.
germany had surrendered. no more german threat, they even signed the agreement that ended the war BEFORE the bombs were dropped on japan.

Aventus wrote:Because Germany surrendered the war ended, penfold are you serious?
Where to even start with Penfold... It's bad enough when the thread is just asking for opinions, but now he's trying his hand at providing factual information... It's sad.*BlackFox wrote:Well, It's also clear there are so many "ridiculous and completely unnecessary" laws out thereSanktum wrote:Lol, in practice that would mean not existing.

For Penfold: The nukes weren't designed to make Germany or Italy surrender. Being as Hilter and Mussolini were dead, and Italy had surrendered a little more than a year before the nukes, and Germany a couple months before the nukes were dropped. They were dropped on Japan to save lives. If you don't understand, Japan at the time worshiped the Emperor and anything short of the sky falling, they would have never surrendered. They didn't even surrender after the first nuke... I'm really trying to help you out brah... But your stupidity is showing no bounds.*BlackFox wrote:Well, It's also clear there are so many "ridiculous and completely unnecessary" laws out thereSanktum wrote:Lol, in practice that would mean not existing.

Why should traffic violations be taken seriously? or other minor crimes? So I should have a felony for doing a very controllable 80mph in a 60mph zone. I should be locked up for a period of time and have to sign up as a sex offender for the rest of my life because I urinated near a public area, or had sex with my soon to be wife that just happened to be 16 while I'm 18?(True story, I know a guy that is a sex offender and is still married to the person he "raped".He's in his 40s now) Also a little weed constitutes having my life ruined worse than any drug could do?.. Or if I fail to pay every single bullshit tax out there, the IRS should have the right to take my business, home, cars, furniture, and fine me, then throw me in prison? Because the federal government believes they are entitled to plunder their citizens worse than the British did to their colonist.. At what point does this pseudo freedom just become living for the ppl in power? Is it when they declare they're over reaching their bounds? Cause the writing is on the wall.

penfold1992 wrote:yeah... its wasn't a world war at that point, it was america and japan. everyone else was licking their wounds from a 7 year war.
and seriously fiction i really don't give a shit about what you say, its only because i don't think america is the greatest thing ever in the universe ever with no exceptions and everything america is or was or has been is the divine gift of perfection that you decide to call me out on every single post. I never said the nukes are supposed to make germany or italy surrender but i did say that the single act of bombing japan was not the only reason that world war 2 stopped.
also, you cant say the bombs were dropped to save lives, even if you are american you still cant look into what would or might have happened if they didn't drop the bombs or if it would have saved more lives or not. just like they america didn't know the extent of the scars that bomb still have on today.
you wanted to say that the bombs were dropped in an attempt to prevent further deaths or something of that effect but you didn't so Mr perfect doesn't get his point across properly either.

Fiction wrote:GG... I call your post out because they are stupid. I'm sure the majority of the forum would be comfortable with that statement. Yes I can say that us dropping the bombs on Japan saved lives... Everyone already knew that.. The Japaneses know it, and everyone else with a brain knows. Japan would not have given up until every last one of them died fighting for the Emperor.

You can't be certain Hitler was actually dead then.Fiction wrote:GG... I call your post out because they are stupid. I'm sure the majority of the forum would be comfortable with that statement. It's not saving lives, but exchanging Japanese lives for American ones.

Thankfully.. situations like this are extremely rare. Well, rape is a very serious crime.Fiction wrote:(True story, I know a guy that is a sex offender and is still married to the person he "raped".He's in his 40s now)

Those who rape.. should be put in prison, where they can happily rot in hell!
And yes.. traffic violations should be taken seriously, as they should be.
Well, maybe "you" don't need to be told that.. the speed limit is for a reason, eh?
Etc.. in a school zone. You see, a motor vehicle can cause death and/or serious bodily harm
If you driving at a very high speed in an extremely reckless and dangerous manner.
Yeah, so extremely rare, cases like this happen everyday. I said "rape" because it wasn't actually rape... It was the state's making moral decisions about what constitutes rape.
Fiction wrote:It was not exchanging American lives for Japanese. It was showing Japan that we did not need to invade their island and fight a ground war. We could simply wipe them off the face of this earth with power never seen before. Thus saving millions of Japanese that would have eventually fought to their deaths for the emperor. If we wanted to kill more Japanese than we did, we'd have dropped the bombs on more populated cities.
Why in this world... would any woman or man marry a sex offender? Isn't that rare?Fiction wrote:Yeah, so extremely rare, cases like this happen everyday. I said "rape" because it wasn't actually rape... It was the state's making moral decisions about what constitutes rape.
Anything but doing the speed limit is dangerous?

Fiction wrote:And traffic violations... Are you really that brainwashed? Anything but doing the speed limit is dangerous? C'mon... There are more ppl that killed by ppl doing the speed limit or under than ppl that are speeding. That's texters and drunks for example.

Fiction wrote:Oh my... At what point do your dumb rants, and splitting hairs in my statements, make these ignorant post of yours remotely intelligent.
You can look back in past events and say what Japan would have done. They've stated it in their own words. Yes fighting them in a ground war would have killed many civilian as well, just like the other wars.
As far as personal attacks go.. I only reinforced what you had already stated about yourself.

TheDrop wrote:speed limit laws are done by the states and speed limit violations are not felonies. Theres obviously over regulation in some areas but having a speed limit is kinda the lowest one to aim for..
Complaining about speed limits is like complaining about traffic lights
There comes a point where it stops being about liberty and turns into anarchy
