Don't bother with Gameforge. They have 30 channels in some maps and they all say 'high' population even though there's like 5 people in some channels. They're obviously bullshitting a lot.

I was in the middle of downloading the game, but after reading all of this and it being p2w, I cancelled the download.

Subjectively it's 'pay to shortcut' and honestly? The prices are retarded enough where I don't give a shit. Example? At 60 I make about 10k a day doing nothing now. 10k. That's about 100 keys or $50 worth of keys to put that in a monetary perspective. The most expensive item in the game are designs which lancer/sorc weapon designs go for 60k or so. Lancer and sorc 2nd best weapon which is tradable is about 30k.

So if someone chooses to spend $200 for a weapon? So be it. I've seen a guy that put $500 worth of keys on broker already. Best part is? That might get him a +12 set.

Until they directly sell MW alk in the shop besides RNG bags and crates it's quite hilarious those that buy shit in game to sell it. The amount you spend is far more than the amount you can earn the gold if you aren't retarded.

Though still in my opinion 'pay to win' which gives one person with a credit card an easier chance at it than let's say someone without. Reputation boosts, crates, RNG bags that give a 5 hour cd instance reset scroll, elite giving x2 the entries and half the cd, and so on is Farking retarded. But the economy in Tera is so Farking retarded I don't care that much about it as opposed to for example Aion where you can almost directly buy the item you want. Now it's spin and gamble for it in Aion. That shit is Farking stupid.

Purely speaking for murica Tera. Europe? I have no idea what their shop is, but it's retarded I hear

Or their tech is really that bad.
Also, the f2p model of TERA is probably one of the best in the business, so don't talk about pay2win here.

Is this game worth picking up, and is it really F2P?

How much of an advantage does someone who pays have over someone who doesn't?

They can spend a random amount of cash to get to +12 over a normal person that spends a random amount of gold for +12. Elite status allows them to do instances x2 if it has entries and 50% less cool down. Realistically the only thing useful for is the x2 for Crucible of Flame since it has easy T14 gold fodder. Instance reset scrolls, comes out of a box that costs $1 chance at an outfit, are 50g. And probably the end game instances Argon Corpus for fodder and Mayana's Core for regeant(2nd best gear and tradable) and Vision maker mats(best gear and not tradable). Elite status for x2 credits/rep and x2 quest gold which allows you to do dailies for 2k gold a day.

That's really the only advantage. Seems like a lot, but really isn't since a small amount use Elite for that. Credit card for +12? It's funny actually. Once elite is tradable in game I'd assume it'd be something around 3-5k gold.

If anything play the game to 60. Do instances and you've ran through the content within a month.

I hit 50 last night, despite all the mindless grinding and RNG it's not that band of a game. At least the enchantment system is better than SRO's, RNG for masterworking aside.

I told some friends about this game. I made a new char (priest)to play along. We're level 32 now and doing instances and bam grinding is lots of fun. I will get back to my lvl 36 lancer as soon as they reach the same level.

Fun game.

Thinking about playing this. Any bard type classes, I see there's a warlock type class. . .

I may just go priest though
6 truths
1.You cannot touch all your teeth with your tongue.
2.All idiots, after reading truth 1, will try it.
3.And discover that the first truth is a lie.
4.You're smiling now because you're an idiot.
5.You soon will forward this to another idiot.
6.There's still a stupid smile on your face.

I have a capped char on VoT if anyone's wants to play on US servers. My guild is pretty friendly though we're an end game guild so we can help you gear and stuff if you're 60, if you're not 60 you're definitely still welcome and we'll answer Qs and stuff but you'll be hard pressed to find people your level to play with.
