So I just saw this "<<Permanently banned for repeated moderator disrespect>>" under Tasdik's signature and I was really surprised. I have never even witnessed him doing anything wrong in close to 6 years now.
What is this about? Tasdik has actively participated in this community for well over 5 years and he gets banned for this? I know that disrespecting a mod isn't the smartest thing to do, but ban him permanently? Why? You can't tell me SRF is a better place with Tasdik gone. Really, I don't understand.

Really wasn't much of a bash at the team. If I were part of the moderator team I wouldn't of taken so much offence from his little bash to the point of banning him but that's just me.

All he had to do was report the spam bot's post and one of the mods would have taken care of it instead of "Mods never do anything." over and over. Trust me they actually go through the reports that we make.

He got a slight point though, Site Discussion had plenty of spamthreads up for serval days. Another mod or two wouldn't hurt.

Over the years, Tasdik never let a chance slip to bash the moderation team, to the point of making very rude posts to me personally. That thread he made in the past was enough for me to ban him personally, but I decided to let him stay, making it very clear to him that I wouldn't accept moderator disrespect again. This ban was justified and honestly, I should have handed it out sooner. I sort of hoped it'd get through to his thick skull but apparently not.

Clearly Tadsik wasn't a one time offender. He ban was not spontaneous. Stop over reacting for fucks sake. He repeatedly made comments in regards to the alleged incompetence of SRF's moderators. It's one thing to acknowledge that due to 'insert multiple reasons' they may not be able to respond to every incident immediately. It's another thing to blatantly and intentionally offend them.

I went easy on Tasdik. Despite my warnings he'd continue to jab at the moderation team, and eventually went over the line in this post, which alone was enough to get him permanently banned. I decided not to do this, however, and told him that I'd let it go with a clear warning that the next time he crossed the line, he'd be out.

Since I made that post, I have seen him crossing several lines despite that warning.
That comment he made was the last straw. He's had plenty of chances to change his attitude.

Insults like those are indeed pretty harsh and not nice. However, they're not uncommon. This is a discussion forum and some times things get heated, it's part of the game. Now obviously I am not defending him calling you a bi polar bitch, but to be fair most of us have been called worse and no bans were issued. I understand that when insulting the mod team you're crossing the line and you have to take actions to keep your authority, but who stands to gain from a permanent ban?

I really thought OTL was over these kind of things. permanently banning a longtime and active member is really bad. we should try to keep this forum somewhat active with people who actually make it a nice place to come here. sure, I know disrespecting the mods is not done, but still, I'm sure that he wouldn't have done it again if you banned him for a month.
