SRO-R and it's JOB SYSTEM
Sooo...
I've been gone for HELLA long.
Downloaded, installed, and logged into SRO-R.
I'm impressed.
It's a very good attempt at cleaning up the game.
No gold for lower level means more focus on quests.
Gear already provided at certain levels means more focus on quests.
No gold for lower level means higher ups and extort the "youngens" for gold by powerleveling.
The quests have A LOT LESS requirements so more focus on quests.
The quests actually correspond to mobs at your level so quest while grinding.
On top of that, the rewards for the quests are actually rewarding.
I also enjoy the fact that Chinese characters have access to all imbues now with Force (now Recovery) as a separate tree entirely.
You just need to have the proper number of skill points to use them all.
There will obviously still be bots.
Heck I was in a 4/4 party that went 3/4. Asked the leader to reform the party and he replied with imperfect English: "sorry. problem with bot."
But I like these clean up attempts.
Only thing missing is a community of active English speakers.
That will enable things like party quests = leveling faster = ?guild/union?
Anyways. The point of my post.
How does the job system work?
Last time I had a job was when the triangular conflict existed and they had JUST introduced aliases.

Re: SRO-R and it's JOB SYSTEM
Someone posted a guide of this new shitty job system a while back. Don't know where it is though.
These attempts were not too bad in SRO-R. Though the skill update sucks imo. But the same token system was a huge fail in ISRO. New noobs could get their sun gear basically for free while older players had to work hard for their sets.

Re: SRO-R and it's JOB SYSTEM
[Guide] The New Jobsystem | How does it Work | Advantages
The New Jobsystem is hard due of that everyone is used to know the Old Jobsystem.
But in fact, the New Jobsystem does Balance the Game out, without it you're missing Important Stats.
The Old Jobsystem gave you Job War and Gold, the New Jobsystem gives you Items (Stallable for high Prices), Job Items, Craft Items and Job War.
If you're playing on such a Server which got the New Jobsystem, you will notice that you will drop some Items called "Specialty Goods Boxes".
Pick these until you got like 20-50 (depends while i can get with a High Lv. Sack on Myth around 1.000 of em) and spend them to your Job NPC.
How to get these Boxes and how do you use them?
Simply :
#1- Kill Monsters
#2- Pick these Specialty Goods Boxes
#3- Go to your Job NPC (Trader for Hunter, Smuggler for Thief. They're marked on the Town Map)
#4- Choose Option "Begin Consignment" to give away the Boxes.
#5- Dear Sir, you just spended your Boxes, congratulations.

How does it work?
Simply, redo 1# - 5# and when you spended a certain Amount of Boxes into the Job NPC (1.000 Boxes for the whole Server I guess) a Notice will appear.
"”The consignment system for (Hunter/Thief) will start soon, get ready…”"
That means, put your Job Suit on, wait for 5-10 Minutes and than another Notice will appear.
"The consignment investment for the [Hunter/Thief] profession will begin shortly in [TownName]"
What is a "Consignment"?
Let's say the Notice appears :
"The consignment investment for the [Thief] profession will begin shortly in [Jangan]"
You're Thief, go to Jangan on the South Road and look for the Consignment Trade.
The Consignment Trade is a automatic Trade with Millions of HP, means it is Impossible to Solo it. You must protect the Consignment as a Thief than.
If you're Hunter you must Attack the Consignment Trade, once a Transport died it drops Specialty Goods Boxes.
You can spend them again with "Begin Consignment".
The Consignment always goes to Hotan, means when it starts from Constantinople you should get over 8-10 Peoples to Protect it otherwise you're screwed.
Once it reached Hotan go to your Job NPC and choose "Settle Consignment", of course when the Consignment made it to Hotan.
You get as Rewards :
One Ticket
XXX Black/Blue stone (1x Specialty Goods Boxes invested = 2 Black/Blue Stones)
Hunter gets Blue stone
Thief gets Black stone

You can exchange the Tickets at the Magic Pop Gori for Job Items or Magic Runes (Blue'ing Job Items).
How the hell do I get Blue Stones?
You're Thief and you just got Black Stones. You need a "Trusted" Hunter of your Choice.
Let's say you got 300 Black Stones. You should Exchange 150 of them for 150 Blue Stones.
With the Stones you can craft "Shining Stones". There are types of : Lowest , Low , Medium , High and Highest.
How do I raise my Job Lv. and Rank?
You need to go to your Job NPC and do Quests like Trading a Quest Item to Town XYZ, once you reached Lv.40/70/100/120 you need to promote to continue to Level Up.
Go to the Job NPC and press Promote, for Lv.40 it costs only Gold, for Lv.70 it costs Gold + Shining Stones or other Items.
What the hell is "Target Trading"?
Once you're Job Lv.71 you can do Target Trading. Go to your Job Skills and summon the Target Trading Transport. Go to your Job NPC and you need Specialty Goods Boxes.
"Begin Target Trading" and your Transport got Items. Transport them to the Town you need to go.
Once you reached the Town choose "Settle Target Trading" and you get Black/Blue Stones.
That's it. Normally my Guide is in German but ya , I translated it. Hope it helped you.
If you're on a Server with the Jobsystem, it's probably bugged, can't say how it works on other Servers since this is the Way how to do it in Myth Online

Re: SRO-R and it's JOB SYSTEM
holy crap.
That's a lot to digest.
Thanks for the info.
I guess I'll get the hang of it when I dive in.
On a side note.
Seems the item drop rate increased significantly as well.
I used to have to kill like 30 mobs just to get one quest item. Now it takes 0-5 mobs.
The combination of this and reduced quest requirements means quests that used to take me 8 hours of grinding to complete now take 45 minutes to an hour.
ME LIKE.
On another side note.
I stayed on the server to test that bar that sorta keeps track of how long you've spent in the game.
It's USELESS.
After 8 hours in game, it starts a new bar of 4 hours.
I was hoping it would kick me out when it runs out.
It did.
BUT.
I simply logged back in again and the 8 hour bar was back.
Would be cooler if they limited you to the 12 hours (or
of play within a 24 hour period.
Anyways,
Thanks again for the info.
Wish there were more English speakers of low-mid levels in this version of the game.

Those are simply the new quests. After lvl 70 you will still be doing old quests.
The bar won't kick you out of the game, it simply gives you less exp at some point, and when it goes grey, you won't gain any exp at all.

Well Arabian got some Outpost too also Bagdhad + the Areas there.

Probably new Quests in iSRO/SRO-R than. On Myth Online each Quests gives there about 80-120 Million EXP while in the Phantom Desert about 200-500 Million EXP. Theyre Quests like kill 500 Monster or pick 300 Items. Not that hard so getting EXP is actually easier in the 121-125 Phase later ^^

Re: SRO-R and it's JOB SYSTEM
You forgot to add that Sro-R has Faded beads, when you kill a forgotten world unique (not regular uniques btw), The fgw uniques can drop you faded beads which are sp scrolls that give 200-20k sp, each unique can drop up to 5 beads, 35-50 and 51-60 seem to have the best drop rate of beads though.
So yeah no more sp farming for you :)
The exp bar resets at 00:00 Joymax time (GMT+9 or something)
There are 3 bars
In other words, after 12 hours of logging in you get no items/exp and have to wait till the next "joymax" day.

There are 3 bars
- Yellow bar:
8 hours
100% exp/sp gain when killing mobs
100% chance to get items (i mean that the chance doesn't decrease)
- Red bar:
4 hours
50% exp/sp gain
half the chance to get a drop (quest or regular drops)
- Grey bar:
12 hours (or the rest of the day)
0% chance to get items
0 exp/sp gain
In other words, after 12 hours of logging in you get no items/exp and have to wait till the next "joymax" day.
So in the first week in college i went with jeans and the pajama's shirt. Didn't notice what i was wearing till after i returned home.

Woah. Thanks for that.
I was wondering my drop rate suddenly dropped when i was doing a quest.
I was in the red bar.
Then I wondered why I wasn't getting any quest drops.
The grey bar was there.
Didn't pay attention to exp since I was planning on just getting the ones from the quest.
Good to know it affects that too.

Is that server new? What's like the highest level there? This should basically eliminate botting since you can't do it for more than 8 hours a day (except for the really lazy people).
Are there any bots playing in parties? I saw that trend starting up when I quit iSRO.
