obama because he is more practical and has more common sense. And his term has been pretty moderate, which is pretty cool. Romney is too vague about his plans. All he does is criticize obama and talk about generic "cut taxes", "we will make more jobs", etc

After seeing the land slide difference in this poll, it makes me wonder how the hell Romney is so close to Obama in almost every official Poll they use to determine who is in the lead. As of right now they are even Tied overall. Obama is better in every way.

Erm, i know. I am saying since this is a internet gaming forum, more people are likely to be from the demographics i listed..younger, atheistic, more ethnically diverse, suburban environment..which seem to vote more for Democrats..than say the demographics of some town in Kansas.

I don't follow politics...The circus act is too irritating....My mind refuse to listen to any politician no matter what his/her agenda....The speeches are same garbage and has been for many..many...years...scripted hogwash......and I'm mind blown when I see people buy into it. Because I know they can't be that dumb...

I never understood how the masses can look up to their favourite politicians knowing that over half the stuff he says have a high chance of being lies (or knowingly overzealous promises) and still they're happy to support him...

Politics is indeed a dirty business.....corruption from campaign to office and afterwards (or at least that's the common track record)....What gets me is that the masses knows this and come to accept it. And that's where its really sad......Blows my mind...I never voted and never will...At least not for this kind of system..

You've obviously never heard of Ron Paul :soosad:

@ The others, how was it not obvious what TheDrop was saying? The demographic that actually would see the online poll is more liberal. There are millions of hard working Americans that don't use the internet 5 hours a day and vote republican, so you'll usually not get that demographic in an online poll.(Yeah, those inbred backwoods rednecks...)

Oh I've heard of him but even he is no exception ...He's inside a system that requires him carry out corruption and fall short on promises to some degree.. He can't win and survive if he's truly pure....And I don't want his opposite which are the only ones winning all the time....The system is clearly fucked..

That's kinda where you're wrong about Dr. Paul. He does win his district by being honest, you don't have to be full of shit to win over the people, when you're an honest and faithful doctor. He doesn't get much done in D.C. because of his honesty, though. Too many politicians up there for themselves. It's true that lobbyist don't even bother going to his office. He's a damn smart man, and if there were more of him in Washington, America sure as hell wouldn't be hurting like it is now. Also check out Gary Johnson. You don't have to be fooled into believing the two party system is the only way, we both know it's a ploy, they're both taking us to the same place.

Just a broad question has anyone actually read up on Ron paul, I mean deep reading on his policies and such. There's a reason he stood no chance in this race. The man is an absolute nut case, he lives in a fairy tale world where cutting 14 trillion dollars of debt is possible in a 4 year period.

I will vote for obama, I will not vote for a man who got rich by killing other businesses and has flip flopped to fit his parties needs so openly.

The reason the U.S. is in this fked up situation is the separation of the nation, the rich are looking out for their own ass and the poor are trying to do the same. Greed has blinded the people, the rich would rather watch the poor die off in the streets than share what they "earned".

Also if we could get a true separation of church and state we could have a great functioning country. It would end the battle over social issues and let people focus on the much more important economical issue's.
To prove this, could someone that is conservative please give me a non religious backed reason as to why gay marriage is bad?

@Fiction, you want less fed gov't intervention? Read up on the articles of confederation and see how well that went over.

Do we really need 900 some bases outside of the united states itself and police the world? That's how ron paul could cut so much money, our foreign policy is out of control and we end up sacrificing our rights because of it.

Yes I have read up on ron paul and 100% agree with what he says, I don't want the federal reserve and I don't want a government telling me what to do.

Also to add on your greed part, that is the banking elite making us fight each other, the federal reserve controls our currency not the rich people. It has nothing to do with sharing the wealth but the fact that EVERYONE in the united states is in debt because of the federal reserve.

how does removing all foreign bases from countries we shouldn't be in = isolationism? Seriously, how does that come to mind? it's called minding our own business. Also we are the only super power in the world, who is going to go against that?

Also on that note, read up on what happened to the roman empire, what happened when they over extended themselves?

Social Security, and Insurance to name a few.

I agree on Ron Paul's foreign policy (no wars, less intervention) and social policies (support for gay marriage, drugs)..but his economic plans are pretty extreme..I dont think a lot of people here would agree with them
You cant plan to reduce trillions of debt by just cutting off foreign wars (though that would help)
Hes against universal healthcare (expected), social security (thinks is "unconstitutional), environment protection (un-funding EPA), No pell grants for college, eliminate capital gains tax, privatize a lot of shit..

@ The guy telling everyone to go read up on 6th grade social study/government subjects. Thanks for the refresher course, but I know my stuff.

@ TheDrop's last comment. Just because somebody is against having the federal government running something, does not mean they don't want it. I want schools, roads, fire departments, hospitals, etc... but I don't think the government is the only answer. Infact I'd say the government has clearly shown to be very poor at doing any of these. Their roads pail in comparison to privatized roads. Their mailing service is utter crap. Their medicare/medicaid programs are great examples of wasted tax payer money, more fraud and bloat than any other type of medical insurance. The list goes on and on. The federal government was not set up to do all these things. It can easily be argued that anything the government does, it can be done better in every way by the private sector. It's as simple as spending your own money vs spending your neighbors money.

... one last thing... The high price of health care, school, and just about everything to do with day to day life would fall dramatically when you restore the power to the dollar. So in turn you don't need to live off the government to be able to see a doctor, or go to college, or pay for your food... but no, keep voting like sheep. The two parties are no different, they want you to need them, one way or another.

QFT.

I really do think the key to America's continued success is privatizing just about everything, with the exception of our military. However, I am fine with independent contractors, such as Black Water, for smaller tasks.

Because we are slowly loosing our rights, going more and more in debt, and getting closer to another war. If we don't act now we won't have a country.

Why not talk about him? His issues are real, his views are for the people and not government, he is everything people should want in a politician but we still get Obama and Romney shoved down our throat.
