Having 1bill+ people with a dictator using statebudget to industrilize sports to be a world power in sports always works. Ask China.

Though most people do not realize it, there is in fact a lighter form of a 'cold war' going between China and the U.S.. Sports is one of the fields China and the U.S. are competing on. Sports is being used as propaganda actually to gain more prestige. Same is going on with the space program. China is spending billions of dollars on their space program to compete with the U.S.. And I'm not gonna even start about the economic war that is going on between them. That's why China is spending so much on sports. And since they have roughly 4 times more people then the U.S. and they can spend as much, if not more, money on sports as the U.S., they are catching up pretty quick. It's a shame to see they don't practice sports for the sake of sports anymore, but are merely using it as a political tool.

Female gymnastics legs are frightening. And that one British girl with the beaver teeth? Ew.

Re: 2012 Olympics.
They should of never let China do it...honestly i cant see anyone that can outdo them. So with London's mediocre opening ceremony I am not going to expect much from Brazil.

I've seen that. I honestly thought Houtzager would take a little more risk with Tamino.
After all, they couldn't do worse than silver anyway. Excellent horse, though.

You could deffinetly tell the experienced riders from the non-experienced riders!
Can I just point out that dressage is a lot harder then it looks!
Re: 2012 Olympics.
Did anyone see Epke Zonderland's performance for Horizontal Bar yesterday? That was really awesome!

I know it is. I've entered in level 3 (z) contests before I ditched it for showjumping and eventing. Both me and the horse found it far more enjoyable.

Jockeys? Wrong sport?
It is actually very beneficial for the horses.

by jockey i ment horse rider.. i dno what the term is for show jumping horse rider....
but i dont mean its cruel for the horses i mean that they dont get the recognition. you always see the riders name and he gets all the glory when the horse has done a lot of hard work too to get to that stage!

Re: 2012 Olympics.
Manteo Mitchell felt the pop in his leg and knew it wasn't good. "It felt like somebody literally just snapped my leg in half," he said.
The American sprinter had half a lap to go in the first leg of the 4x400-meter relay preliminaries Thursday and a choice to make: keep running or stop and lose the race. To him, it was never much of a choice.
He finished the lap and limped to the side to watch the Americans finish the race and qualify easily for the final. A few hours later, doctors confirmed what he suspected: He had run the last 200 meters with a broken left fibula.

Well.. it isn't really that arrogant. I mean, you've seen some of the judging during these Olympics and it would be either stupid or foolish to say they are 100% accurate. Especially in the woman's gymnastics. With sports like swimming, track, volleyball, etc you clearly know who wins. But with sports like gymnastics you got to take the word of some judges on TV. Judges who should be unbiased but some times are clearly not.
Re: 2012 Olympics.
Oh and yeah, 'Merica currently has a 10 medal lead on China. So suck it, world.

Funny thing, because we use judges to determine whether people have to die or not. But we can't handle to choose which man or woman wins a sportsgame? And most people don't know sh1t about gymnastics, because there are so many rules that determine what your final score will be. It's not like the judges just choose some score for you based on whether they like you or not. It has to do with combinations, technique, flighttime and much more. Give more credit to the winners, because they trained their asses off the past 4 years and they all deserved it.
