Why Exploit Gold Duping? <From a Fable>

I'm Hyori, a member of Fable from the Babel server. Over the last couple of days, me and 3 members of my guild were involved in a method of gold creation on SRO. A lot of people want to know 2 things:

1. How do you gold dupe?
2. Why did you gold dupe?

NightBloom pointed out in another thread that Joymax monitors gold levels, and can immediately notice fluctuations in the economy based on gold creation. It did not matter how much gold we made, they would find that it came from nothing.

I'll answer these 2 questions.

1. Sorry, can't answer this one. Guess what? To my knowledge, it's not even fixed yet.

2. Why did we gold dupe? This one will take some time to answer.


We duped gold because we could, that should be the logical answer. Lots of people on Babel were willing to accept free gifts of 50 million gold from me and my cohorts out of thin air, some accepted as much as 900million or 500million gifts. We gave into our own greed. This trick was simple, fast, and we could manufacture 500million gold per 60 seconds of work, far outdoing anything a gold farmer could imagine. We ran around with drug of typhoon, and within hours had so much SoS botters and CCF'ers alike ran like pu$$ies.

We did this because we were basically fed up with the game. After VODKAHN released photos of Soundwave begging for CCF'd silk, and photos of ZEXYGIRL actually buying it, our image was totally ruined. We made Zexy leave, or rather made her pimp Darkpyro rageleave our guild, and made Soundwave promise to stop CCFing.

To my knowledge every active botter has been booted from Fable within 2 days of discovery for the past 5 months. We discouraged CCF, even took matters into our own hands like on Zexy when we found out. We scammed from Botters when we could, after learning about the trick of the trade from NightBloom and Avalon.

CCF'ers have ruined this game for us. We intended to compete at the top level, but could never find enough people with non-botting and non-CCFing attitudes like us to compete against. If you are not yet lvl70, you are basically leveling only to be wrecked by botters when you get there. This game has no meaning, and if you find meaning in the endless grind only to find out you are worthless, by all means find a different outlet for your time.

Botters look down on you, saying you are a no-lifer.
CCF'ers smile at you with their sos+7 sets.
Legit players say you bot, only because you are higher level or just robbed them.
The server accuses you of crimes based on rumors spread by botters and CCF'ers.

This game is now run by those at the top, the unlegit players. As Sutaseyu the SA pointed out on VENTRILO with Fable members yesterday, people with BILLIONS of gold from CCF are somehow immune... no matter the amount of bug reports or evidence brought against them.

This plot was our last attempt to overcome the obstacle that faced us, millions of botted hours, thousands of stolen or frauded credit cards.

What we came up with is this: You cannot beat botters, you cannot beat CCF'ers, you cannot win against Joymax in this system.

If you win one 1v1 or one battle, you cannot win the war.

We, or the ones who perpetuated this gold creation, are leaving this game. We no longer find meaning in the grind, nor find meaning in the shit that we take. If the rest of you wish to continue playing this game that has:

1. Shit community relations
2. Shit updating
3. Shit GM's
4. Shit service
5. High cost
6. Huge quantity of unlegit players

Go ahead. We made our choice, and I find it reasonable that some of you should make the same.

I agree with most of the things you say but can't agree with everything.

Sometimes i wonder why JoyMax let botting become so spread when some random banning would have been enough to discourage most of em, expecially the ones with high level characters.

It may become frustrating to see people everywhere so openly break game rules and take huge advantage over who try to play the game as it is meant to be playied,to think that if it wasnt for botting at CCFing you could probably 1 hit them but now you have to run.

There was only 1 way to keep playing the game and im surprised you came to this conclusion after so long becouse it has been obvious for months:either stop competing or stop playing.

I made my choice, it looks like you made yours now, i'm just sorry you made it after so long cos i undestand it might have been frustrating playing trying to beat ccfers/botters.

I also appreciate that you don't hide what you did behind all the bullshit others are using.

Yea I agree, so this proves that, they CAN and DO fix some kind of problems, in this case dupeing of gold, but they ignore the botters and ccfers(who also have amount exceeding 999m, and have been around like, forever <_<), lol its kinda wierd I mean duping gold could ruin the economy and all, sure, but it gives everyone the advantage only gold buyers would have lol, so they definatly dont want that, sorta seems like they want to keep the ccfers/botters on top, thats one way of looking at it I guess. But then agian what do we know? were just the players, who knows what they have planned, hopefully the way things are now wont last.

Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

Our extra server inspection is completed at 02:05 am October 17 ,Silkroad Standard Time.

As you may be aware, there was a bug found between 10/15 and 10/16 that could increase gold abnormally. The abusing of the bug by some users brought about huge increase of gold and would

eventually devalue the entire economy. Rather than watch this happen, after a long server inspection to investigate the abusing, the severs were rolled back. What prompted the decision of the roll-back was the fact that the game economy was at risk and to protect the benefit of the users who played with justice.

I have never CCFed, I have never bought gold. nightbloom is a 100% legit char and the only one I will ever play despite some build mistakes. miniFly is the one who pwns the botters, not me. I dont even really know how he does it. But I do support it as it is within the boundaries of the game. THere is no code alterations, no real trickery. Despite what ppl think, mini relies on nothing but pure greed and stupidity to accomplish his goals of denying botters their ill gotten gains. He takes the blame for other scams even tho he did not perpetrate them as it suits his sense of humor to be thought of as being able to get what he wants. He never brute forced an account, used an exploit, bought in game items of any kind with real money or CCFed. Little known fact, he is only 15 years old.

You cannot compare what he does to gold duping.

We fight the botters everyday. We constantly pit ourselves against NIKE union, the Bears and even recently dEranged and GumiBai as they have apparently joined these blatant botters in their fight against us. Our allies are smaller, weaker, true. 420 Union, BH Union, SG, ShadowHawks, Acme, Muketsu... All are willing to play (despite my big mouth and inability to just say well thought out things) against the botters with their legit chars and legit gear. Your method is nothing but a "If you cant beat them, join them" cop out. We have run out through sheer pressure several non legit guilds. THe Avalon campaign will continue to follow the rules and keep making those botters cry. Not at the expense of the ppl we are trying to HELP, but at the expense of those who cheat. We dont need to join them to beat them. We can do it through intellect and planning and yes, we can do it legit.

Stop for a moment, and hear this from someone personally involved. We told Sutaseyu in VENTRILO that it was confined only to Babel. Blame dumbass silk assistants for spreading rumors to the GM's about other servers.

Continue being blinded by Joymax and the immunity of large botting/CCFing guilds. You play on Xian where there are actually legit players, on Babel... there are maybe 10 or 20 people above 64 who can claim themselves legit.

We didn't Farking ruin the game, it's been ruined and will continue until Joymax gives a damn about botters and CCF'ers. If the gold dupe method worked and we remained unbanned, that would have been 4 people total who became too hard for you to kill.

Ryoko maybe you don't care about botters or CCFERs right now but if you wouldn't be so narrow minded you would see that there wont be any consequece to what Fable did, just a few hours wasted.

You cannot compare ANYTHING we did to botting and CCFing. Botting and CCFing have been going on for months, inflating prices, ruining gameplay, Farking up the economy. We did this once and OH NOES A ONE DAY ROLLBACK, cry more, xian had a 2 week? or something rollback. If you didn't lose a seal of sun 52 weapon or 64 sos weapon i don't want to hear your sap story. You know how many times THE Farking BOTTER next to me got an sos AND I WATCHED HIM PICK IT UP? You act as if this rollback is so bad, ****, you have a 7 day event now, getting 4x the exp if you have double scroll, for a one day loss, a gain for you if you ask me. Joymax has made it possible, they are the sole ones possible that they allow the botting and CCFing to continue, they KNOW who bots, they KNOW who CCFs, yet it profits them so they ignore it. Joymax doesn't care about the customers, they only care about themselves and their money.
