If you have a choice, go with 64 bit on the off chance you get 4GB more ram in the future.

Well it just so happens that the ram I ordered was actually out of stock; so I'll wait until Friday and see what kind of sales come up :sohappy:

Also, how can I prevent too much dust from entering my system?
Is more dust accumulated by intake or exhaust.
Andddd is it better to have more exhaust than intake or vice versa?

Don't put it on the floor and put some filters.

something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811996010

not needed if you don't mind cleaning your case about once a month. could probably do more if it does not get too dusty inside.

I go months without dusting my cases and I get a thin layer of dust at most.

Checked everywhere, shipping ends up costing more than the product itself :soosad:

I'm just gonna see if I can pick of up a sheet of the same material from a hardware store and just glue it on myself lol.

Sounds good enough. My case came with a cheap mesh and it works alright. Only problem is I leave mine on the floor and I use it as a leg rest. I'm a terrible person.

I just went out and bought a small roll of the black screen that you use for your windows. I'm going to use that for my filters because I'm just too damn cheap to pay $4 for 1 120x120 filter.

I never would have thought building a computer would have me running to the hardware store...

Edit:
Got some new pics, includes ram and filters installed :)
The back story of my front intake fan:
I originally installed it outside of the case (cause I thought you were supposed to do that right? :S), but when I tried to put the face plate back on, it just didn't have enough room to click back on; so I had to remove the fan, and LUCKILY, I had enough clearance inside the case to mount my fan from the inside. This shit took me hours. I probably put more hours into this pc than I did working this week.

WHOEVER INVENTED THE RUBBER FAN MOUNTS ARE A FUCKING GENIUS.

Spoiler!

Edit again:
My graphics card was just processed in Montreal, but I won't get it until Monday...FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can 3 pin case fans be controlled via a program or something? And how can I control a PWM fan?

Depends on the motherboard IIRC. You could try something like Speedfan and hope it works, but consulting your motherboard manual might return better results.

Not trying to hijack the thread but would anyone mind having a look at my computer build and see if it's good or if it needs any changes? Figured I would just post here instead of making a whole new thread.

Expensive for a 560 TI. Where do you live? In Canada I can grab a 570 for 269~ or cheaper on sale. 100$ for a 700 W psu is also somewhat expensive. I got mine for 60~ on sale, you could save yourself 20-40$ easily. As for buying Windows..not sure what to say

The GTX 560 TI 448 core is faster than a 570. The psu I thought was a good deal since I paid for a Corsair 550w that isn't in the gaming series for somewhere around $90. I am comfortable with what I am paying for this system, I don't really care about saving $20-$40.

I didn't know people still buy. I was kinda surprised when I was told that Windows 7 would cost me an extra $100 LUL.

Quick google says 570 is slightly faster, though not by much. But combined with the fact that it's 30$ less means you should probably go for the 570.

The difference between a 560 ti 448 core and a 570 is apparently only 32 cuda cores, whatever that means. I am not changing where I am buying my parts either seeing as I can actually just walk in the store and purchase them, which is what I am going to do. Looking at MemoryExpress' website, the base 570 is equal in price or $25-$70 more for a 570 with higher vram/Superclocked.

I caved, those boot speed vids were just too convincing.
SSD acquired.

My front intake was blocking the clearance needed for me to screw in the SSD in the bay, and if I mounted it on the 3.5" mount, it would have ended up blocking like 1/4 of my intake (HD is already blocking just a bit off the top).

@Azilus, thanks for the fan controlling tip, the program works like a charm :)
Is there a way I can set certain profiles with certain settings?

It turns out the fan I bought that was advertised as "World's most quiet fan!" is in fact the loudest fan on my computer. Running at 100%, this thing sounds like an engine, 50% speed is acceptable though.

Oh and the program says my SSD is running at like 128 degrees LOL.

That feel when everything on my computer is quiet, but my GTX295 starts to sound like a jet engine once it goes around 80% speed

Got a 570, I know exactly how you feel. Shit's like a jet taking off sometimes.

Is how I felt 3 years ago when I built mine. The ability to max [almost] everything for the past 3 years has been fantastic. It's too bad I can't maintain 60 frames on project cars with 40 ai cars on the track.

If I turn my intake fan to 0%, my CPU temp rises from <20(with 100% intake) to 45...

Or does this mean I screwed up the liquid cooling when I installed it? :soosad:

A GPU doesn't bottleneck a CPU, it's the other way around (99% of the time).
