Casual is no good if you have any hopes of being a good HoN player.

It forces you to create bad habits, and it's not any more fun than regular mode.

The only time when I would play casual mode is if I had only less than half an hour to play and still wanted to get my hon-fix.

With that said, when I started playing I only played casual mode. Only some months later when I decided I wanted to try and get good at the game did I stay away from them.

I used to think like you until I've decided to play League more often since my friends were all playing it. Take it from me, I'm not biased at all. I've played both games for lengthy periods of time.

League isn't easier or harder, they're totally different games. I'm not even talking about the Runes & Masteries. For one, League is based off an AD & AP system. That means even mages can carry and scale late-game by stacking AP items.

This is completely different from HoN who's system is based off phases where classes (INT,AGI,STR) have a much more prominent role. In HoN, mages own early game, carries own late game. Other features like the inability to teleport to towers (except with a specific spell) in exchange of a free way back to base also makes the game much more different.

I've personally lost all respect for S2Games, and that's coming from the ex-biggest HoN fanboy of SRF. They've had so many opportunities to make a great game but they've farked up big time. If they had kept the same attitude as when the game was in Closed Beta, HoN would be somewhere today.

That being said, fuck both of them. DotA 2 is where it's at. I'm only playing LoL because my friends own 500$ entry-level Laptops.

It was never meant to be, but people were able to play with sub accounts connected to the same main account together; so basically it was like 2 people playing on the same account at once.
A lot of my friends, myself included did exactly that because we didn't want to pay for a legacy account before, and we sure as hell didn't want to spent money on heroes either.

After Friday's patch, only 1 account can be logged at once. Well, you're still able to log on multiple sub accounts and talk to eachother, but as far as that goes, that's all you can do. You definitely won't be able to play matchmaking, but I don't know about public games.
