You could watch the G-Star 2011 videos, it's all Sylvari and Asura gameplay. Of course it's nothing like the actual experience.

I'm loving the warrior's greatsword damage and playstyle but it's really not tough. With barely any healing and no protection skills, it's sometimes difficult.

I decided against guardian because I think it's OP only in the begining because you get a lot of great skills early on that don't scale well. I'm hoping the warriors banners and stances up the survivability.

How is the gameplay? Community? Server capacity ( as bad as joymax?)
Are classes standard or does something set the apart.
Is it a grindfest?

Hate you guys in Yak's Bend. You guys own the map in WvW atm. Tarnished Coast is in second place, and like 51,000 points behind you -.-

Read about the game for a few seconds man. The game is known to not be grind-fest and to not follow usual MMO class standards (to an extent).

I ended up not going to Yaks Bend but i am in jade quarry with some irl friends. As far as the game goes it is amazing, especially WvW. I am currently switching between great sword mesmer and one handed mesmer, i am really surprised by how well i am doing with it in WvW . There is lag from time to time that can get you killed or mess you up, and there are some random glitches (keep doors not being able to be repaired) (people getting stuck in keep doors when they are made), the most annoying of all being the spawn rate for mobs can be messed up quite badly, you could be fighting 1 wolf and then 3-4 wolves will spawn right around him and will kill you in seconds with no warning.

The first WvW match i played in we completely dominated it wasn't even close. The second one did go as well as we were in third place when i left behind by about 2,000 points or so, somehow one of the other teams got out to a huge lead in the first seconds and i have no idea how.

But overall this game is great and i am about to get on and play some more.

Lag was a huge problem because there was too many people, see the pic from last night:

Image

The quests are almost all public quests so you don't need to worry about kill stealing and the difficulty scales. At one point there was so many mobs and people AoEing that as soon as you got within viewing distance your whole game would freeze. A lot of people were pissed but they closed the servers down for 30 minutes last night and since then I have had no problems.

i loved the game, didnt do alot of pve but from the little i did, i can already tell i will like it.. i did the competitive pvp mostly through out the whole weekend and never got bored... playing thief was so fun. i would like to get a 5 man group to play with all the time when it comes out for the tourneys.. also got about 3 lvs from WvW and that was epic.. some funny stuff happened in that.

Loving the game. It could still use work, but it's still beta so they have stuff to work on still. If they fix a lot of the problems, then I believe it will be an extremely great game. First thing I think they should do is fix the optimization for the graphics. Though it sort of makes sense, being in a battle (30+ on each side) in WvW brought me down to lower than 30 fps with all the particle effects going on with low settings. I play other games on all high with some intense stuff and still get 60+ most of the time so optimization could definitely use work.

They've mentioned several times that they'll do the obvious game optimization as the very last step of game development. So expect a better gameplay when the game will actually be released. :D

Ah. Now that I think about it, game balances and stuff are much more important, though optimization would be nice :P

Well optimization will happen, but it's just a standard of game making to leave it last.

On another note, a video that truly shows the beauty of DEs. Every character that you see is there because of a certain event or chain of events.

First is the GW1, the second is the GW2 one. Shows the changes that the Elder Dragons brought to Tyria.

This guy is crazy skilled. Engineer was at the bottom of my my list; he alone is responsible for having me consider maiming the class.
