well ive finally saved up enough cash for a new car. i drive a toyota cressied 91 atm
ive been looking at the vw gti, toyota matrix, and the mazda 3 hatchback
so far im in love with the gti. the interior doesnt feel like a cheap box like my moms hondas that shes had. im worried about vw not being reliable. ive read that the 2008+ vw cars are getting better.
if anyone has owned a vw car in the past or owns one now id like to hear what you have to say
the matrix and mazada 3 is only a back up at this point if the vw is not reliable. i can prob get past their shitty interior. i hope
thanks

GET IT OMG haha im a vw fan, own one, 2009 vw rabbit. Minor issues all under warranty. No other problems, nothing huge. Any issues (2 we had) the dealer took care of it. Amazing car, even if its not the GTI, still has great torque, and speed. Make sure you take it Standard (stick shift) for the love of driving. Which model were you looking at specifically?

Only bad thing about VW is parts are expensive as sh*t and if you don't have a maintenance package you are going to be spending a lot at the dealer.

Re: car help
I can't remember the name of the piece that broke, (weird special name). Apparently it doesn't happen often. The car had the check engine on, and it wouldn't rev up past 3000 RPM. Was weird... Brought the car in, they told us that no one around had that part, so they had one of their mechanics drive 50km's to this isolated VW dealer, which had one piece left. All under warranty, only payed 80$ for the working time.
