if a white person said it to his black friend then it would be deemed as racist... yet the whole idea that you assumed a white person saying a word is racist... is racist as it is!

It's not what you say, but how you say it.

I've been called racial epithets by people of various races before, and every time I hate the fact they're using such words, but how I react depends solely on myself & the relationship had with the individual in context of why they're saying it.

If some random person yelled out at me calling me a *****, yea, I'd say that's pretty damn racist, regardless of what race they were in that situation. Though, if said person was my friend and they jokingly said it, I'd ease up about them saying it and wouldn't consider that really racist.

I don't care to control what people say, say whatever you want (not directed at anyone), just know what you're saying and the possible reactions to such things and realize not everyone thinks alike...

nono i mean like, if u say it jokingly and light heartedly to someone and you are white and they are black... outsiders would assume u were being racist even if you were both laughing about something.

the word is in no way offensive anymore then other words are but it seems to be a key phrase in society that when used by a white person over in the uk, makes them a racist.

an example being that in the local news a police officer has come out of jail recently after a women perverted the cause of justice by lieing. she told the court that he had called her a n***** and he had arrested her because she was black

turns out she was a drug mule and had guns too (guns in the uk are illegal xD) she had a eye witness who was also jailed for the same reason as she was hired by the black women to confirm he was calling her racist words.

They say it to each other casually, and rappers say it at least a hundred times in their songs, but as soon as somebody that isn't black says the word, they start shitting bricks. The only reason why anybody says it is because it's used so much that you don't even think it's that derogatory; it might even be a formality among your friends. Sometimes, I just think they look for a reason to get angry and call people racist because they think we owe something to them. You don't see people going around calling their friends chinks/frogs/gooks/etc. because they're not used as much in media as n*gger is. But hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles.
