Way better than Xiii in terms of flexibility. In fact it's one of the least linear FF games lol. You can follow the story line however and whenever you want. My only problem is the Random battles again.. I know you can get away from them, but it's just annoying not knowing when they'll pop when you're just passing through a very low level area. I kinda dislike how you only get 2 party members the entire game also.. but the abundance of monsters you can tame make it worth while.

I kinda dislike the fact that we only got two party members also, but its nice you can customize your pardigms better than in XIII.

It's funny-- the guy with short black gray-ish hair (the one who takes Serah in look for her sister) looks like a mix of Squall, Zidane and Tidus.
Btw, do I need to finish FFXIII to understand the story plot on this right?

Pretty much yeah, but story in itslef is kinda complicated so even i have some problems with it altough I have played XIII, but theres plenty of videos in Youtube about FFXIII story, so if u dont want to play XIII then search for those vids.
Edit: Oh, and if you have completed FFXIII before, you get an extra Lightnign theme when you first start XIII-2

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2
The story in this is VERY complicated and you don't get any clarity until close to the end.
Only read the spoiler if you're not going to play the game or have already beaten it.
EDIT: beat the game and what do I get?
"To Be Continued..."
Already rumors of XIII-3...

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2
You know it will. Dum shits said that when FFXIII concludes, they will release new info on Versus... many people thought that was FFXIII-2... Versus is not going to be worth the 6+ year wait.John_Doe wrote:William-CL wrote:The story in this is VERY complicated and you don't get any clarity until close to the end.

Annoying shit better not push back Versus.........It better be DLC based. Ending aside I did enjoy the game.
Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2
Gotta say, I have enjoyed this game a lot more than XIII, the main storyline is a bit shorter and somewhat reminds me of the story in VII. If there is really XIII-3 comming, I just caaan't wait until it comes, but I hope the story in it is going to be bit longer, cuz you can go main storyline from start to end in this game in about 30 hours, which was about half of the time I used in XIII, worth to wait

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2
FF13 was..meh. The main thing I hated about it wasn't the "linear" storyline - it's the fucking soundtrack! I really did not appreciate the non-stop barrage of pop love songs DURING gameplay. I thought they'd learn a lesson from last time but evidently no. Aside from that, they dropped the best character in the game to focus on lame ones like Serah?

I don't buy ff games anymore. My experience has been that you buy 5 games to get 1 good one and that is just fail. Instead of trying to milk the franchise at a breakneck pace they should invest in developing more to bring the ip to once again a worthy standing.

For some reason, the past FF games have been very, very girly. I mean, the background music, the dialogue, the character design (especially the guys who look like boyband members)...what the hell?

Versus better be damn good. The first I heard about it was fucking almost 5-6 years ago.
