no quests?

so far i like the changes in the questing i see on silkroad R, but am i missing something or is there no quests between levels 42-45?

There are quests! At 41/42 you can go to the first Hotan outpost and get the Maong quest. That one can be done twice. Afterwards you can get the Bungwang quest, which again can be done twice.
From there on you're off to Flowers at 45 (I think it's 45).
At 46 you'll get your first quest at the second Hotan outpost as well.

do you remember who gives the bunwang quest?
and in the new game, they took those pesky blood flowers out!

they didnt take them out they are there

They changed locations of some monsters to make more sense/easier to go. Open up the quest menu and search for the monster's location. If you aren't doing FGW then you'll probably need to grind a bit more beyond the quests.

In iSro mob spawns overflowed into other spawns way too much. SroR doesn't have as big of an issue with it.

Yes, you get the Bungwang quest from the first Hotan outpost. Just go there. If there is no quest, then your level is yet too low. Just grind one more level and go look again
