What does this item do? Make it possible to trade non-tradeable items?

There are 2 items related to this:
Lock:
(or whatever it is called ingame)
It makes an item un-tradeable and email verified, once you use it you get an email with a random password that can be used later to "open" the item and unless you enter that code you can't trade the item any longer, it gets useful when you have a couple of items that you really care about or have a shared account or something.
Key:
It is used to unlock the item making it tradeable but you have to enter the exact code you got in the former email.
Notice that:
Some items that didn't use a lock to make them can't get opened with a key.
Like magic pop items, some un-tradeable event items, etc. Can't get tradeable.
