blizzcon 2011

Post by .curve »

Sup guys! I'm here at Day 2 of Blizzcon as I post this. Day 1 was awesome. So much information about D3 and SC2s new expansion "Heart of the Swarm". They also talked about the details of the new WoW expansion "Mists of Pandaria". It looks alright but they're adding a pokemon type feel to WoW. You can use your non combat pets to fight other pets and level them up and stuff. I'll elaborate more when I get home.

This place is awesome all around. I plan on going future years. Foo Fighters are coming on in a couple hours. Starcraft 2 finals are about to start in 15 minutes or so.

Pictures when I get back and can get them off my phone.

Little less than a 2 hour drive.

For those of you interested in Starcraft 2, you guys just missed the best, most intense series for the Blizzcon Invitational Finals between IMMvP and IMNesTea.

Mvp came into the finals two games down. He won the first two games to tie up the series sending it into another series. Mvp lost the first game of the final round and then won the second game to tie it up.

The final game was so intense. 43 minute game. Terran v zerg. Came down to nestea massing Broodlords and mvp massing ghosts. The final push from nestea with 20something broodlords was the biggest nailbiter of this whole series.

Mvp took it with his mass ghosts and a couple nukes. My god that was amazing though.

We got all the information you got from Blizzcon from the Internet. Then again, I assume that actually being there is a whole other experience.

Yeah I read about the new WoW expansion, I thought it was just a joke first, turned out to be serious business. I laughed when I first read about it. I respect Blizzard as developers, but wow.. that new expansion is just.. :palm:

Not really. I missed it, but looked online. It was boring. It wasn't NesTea like. dirty cash threw the game so he can show that zerg needs balance.

That final game was so sick, one of the sickest games I have ever seen.... just wow.

MVP deserved it IMO. What a performance... The two games that he lost in the upper bracket finals you could tell he wasn't in a good state of mind. Probably still devastated from the GSL loss.

Anyway that last games was insane. I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the SC2 coverage :) Also I love day9 so much.

I wish I could go to BlizzCon. I might fly over from holland next year, but this year I couldn't. The amount of people following the SC2 games actually stunned me btw. That scene is just insanely big right now. There were even people in another hall watching the screen as well, and that hall was packed apparently.

That said, I think WoW is going more casual yet again, because they kept emphasizing how peaceful this new race is, and how they make us look at ourselves and question why we fight.

Foo Fighters live was pretty cool, but the sound was fcked. The mic was way too low so you could barely hear him singing.

@Twysta
Yeah I was at main stage watching the SC2 finals and even that stage was alive and cheering. The crowd was amazing the whole time.

I actually got to play the new WoW expansion. They had live demos set up and it's not that bad. I don't like the idea of pandas being playable, but it's worth looking at I guess.

@Ex
Yeah it's a whole different experience being there. The atmosphere was amazing.

Also I have to come out and be honest here, both speeches in the opening ceremony were weak. Just me? :S
