Do you not actually read what I typed? DOMESTICATED rabbits will not survive in the wild!!! I wouldn't want to set my rabbit out in the wild and watch him being eaten by a fox, that is just cruel and sick.

Rabbits, were bred for meat....

I never said that domesticated rabbits will do well in the wild and that you should throw them back...I was simply making an observation about animal lovers who keep animals as pets. Animals deserve our respect and they deserve their freedom "from the start"....It's just an opinion of mine that an animal lover shouldn't have to engage in the practice of relatively imprisoning animals under the misguided notion of care and love.

You don't condone the consumption of meat or even drink the milk of an animal and I admire and respect that....But I do find it interesting that you don't mind caging animals.

That's a pretty much amazing story.. lulz Well, what kind of bird was it?

I can't remember the species name exactly, our 2 birds were named after the name of the species and we called them Quintin and Quintarian. So I'm assuming it starts with a Q. They were mostly grey, shaped a lot like a parrot and had patches of green, yellow and red under/on their heads. Next time I see my dad I will see if he can tell me what species they were, I'm sure he can. He always know that kind of thing.

So basically what you're saying I put my rabbits in tiny cages?

I'm saying that you put your rabbits in a relative cage when compared to their natural habitat...And if you use an actual cage however large or small it's still not the animal's natural habitat. And once again I'm less concerned about where your rabbits "should" be and more concerned that YOU embark in the practice of having them as your possessions (in whatever cage) and portray yourself as an ANIMAL LOVER.

Their natural habitat? If I had a wild rabbit, I would say their natural habitat, would be the wild... My rabbits are not wild, but domesticated rabbits, their natural habitat was and will never be in the wild, so what would their natural habitat be? Considering they don't even live in a cage, you really haven't got a clue about me or my rabbits.

So tell me, is this wrong, the guy "set them free", but all the animals were shot dead!!
These are wild animals, and shouldn't be caged in the first place, there is a difference between caging a wild animal and having a domesticated animal as a pet.

Shot dead to protect humans. Sounds ok to me. We're all animals after all and those of the same species tend to look out for each other.

I don't think lions, tigers, etc are native to that region... would cause major problems. Apparently they didn't have the resources to shoot them with tranquilizers, then track, cage, and relocate them all.

Yeah at the end of the day, we're all animals. But why is a human life greater then an another animals life? It is just a waste of life, why not tranquillise them, and then take them to zoo.

But oh well.

Im too tired to make the quotes, but basically
"You guys are applying human mentality to canines."
Could you not say this, for say the pigs/cows/etc in the farms? They were born there, they dont know a life beyond it, they probably could not survive alone in the wild.

Yes not everyone cages pets etc, but i was showing the extremes, which is bascially what the video is showing. Im sure there are farms where animals are kept outside then slaughtered.

I dont give a shit about people keeping animals as pets or eating them for meat, I was just showing the hypocrisy of people that are against eating animals for meat yet cage them (whether cramped inside a small house or in a small garden)

LOL...kinda funny how you keep reiterating my observation of people who make misguided claims about being animal lovers. But I see where you are coming from (even though I don't agree) ...Imprisonment is better than death is your slogan. hahaha.

All animals habitat is the wild....Just because we domesticated a few of them it doesn't change that the wild is their natural home. By your line of thinking if people started to domesticate hawks, eagles, monkeys, non-venomous snakes, sloths..etc then they could make the same claims as you are right now. Saying that the wild is no longer their natural home....which is ridiculous.

And as for your rabbits are concerned they are caged...If they cant run off into to woods with the choice of never returning to you then they are in a cage...It may not be physical but it's still a cage. If you're just gonna use your biased misguided love for your rabbits to defend your claims then this is the last time I'll debate about this with you. I respect your choice to have rabbits (and whatever animal you'd like) because that's how our society is and it probably wont change. Hence is the reason why my point is more about observing your practice rather than caring about where your rabbits should be.

Yeah you're right. Most police departments have the equipment to shoot, tranquilize, track, cage, transport/relocate 50+ wild animals.

Now welcome back to reality. It's sad, but they didn't have much choice.

Not all, if you let a dog free, he'd return to you instead of going straight to the wood.
Since his birth, he's born in a cage or somewhere not in the wild. It's rare to see a wild dog now. No where in the genetic code says "this species has to live in the wild". It's a matter of being kept in a cage or not.

Erm

The cats, dogs, pets of today have about as much in common as you do to a ape - you're both mammals with very similar DNA, and that's about it.

Today's pets - cats and dogs - have been bred and domesticated for thousands of years. A true wild animal has not.

Thank you

If I set my rabbit free into the woods, he'll be dead probably within a week. He'll either will be eaten by Mr.Fox, eaten something he shouldn't, or will starve to death. Why? because he isn't a wild animal, he was born into a rescue. :banghead: I would show you photos, but I cannot be bothered!

About the animals that were shot dead, because they are born into captivity, they wouldn't know how to survive in the wild. Some of those animals (tiger), are an endangered species, over hunted by humans, put into a breeding program, will hopefully save the species in the wild. But completely honest with you, those poor animals were neglected and probably better off where they are now, then being with that man.
