Easiest build in PVE

Post by Drachenklaue »

Can you give me a hint, what build (masteries and attribute ratio) is the easiest way of playing PVE?
I'm asking because I want my girlfriend to try SRO and it's her first rpg (she has only been playing racing and flash games before).
I thought about a hybrid because it is flexible in PVE, while the (pure int/str) PVP builds are a little harder to play for beginners.
Or should she take an ice blader (best tanker in PVE because 90% of monsters do physical damage)? PVP is unimportant for that build.

Pure int, pure lightning with spear and ghost spear petal skill. Nuke + ghost spear will kill almost anything 30+. Before level 30 use spear skills for good damage.

1. Kills fastest

2. Requires very little SP

3. You get grasswalk and piercing force with your main mastery

Yeah, but won't it be had for a rpg beginner with that low hp? o_O
Won't this be frustrating?

Edit:
I forgot to mention that a level 0 gap is a must. She won't have the patience to play that much for maxing skills. So two skilltrees are the maximum.

well if shes going a 0 lvl gap, then i recomend doing some build thats has more str than int.

for beginners i think its better to do something near full str, because u have more hp, and u can still kill monster with out imbue, or high lvl skill.
And also full int, will mostly be difficult for beginners because the will die more often than full str, and need more strategy, and more sp than full str.

Archers are the second fastest to level up. If she's just playing to have fun and is not serious about the game go pure str archer. I say this b/c archer is the worst class, pvp anyway.

Why lightning over fire? Wouldn't that kill faster because of the increase in damage and range?

Cause then you need lightning and fire trees near your level which means more sp which mean leveling more slowly.

You can easily get by on just lightning tree until farming at the cap.

Interesting idea. But if you ultimately go Fire(main)/Light(sub) wouldn't you be in a mess? One issue would be unlearning Light Imbue which is supposedly very inferior to fire at high levels. Not to mention the fire nuke has better range and damage :O

I really like this idea though if it could be reworked into a fire/light at high levels.

I am not sure of the pros and cons of this approach though.

It would require 27 skill reallocation pots to get rid of light imbue. It can easily be reworked into fire. 4*28 silk (20 100% reallocation pots) = 112 silk=$11.20 then you would need maybe a million gold plus some curst hearts. If you're using both the nukes anyway, lightning has to be as high as you can for better damage plus the buffs are crucial.

It's still a bit of a debate whether lightning is that much worse than fire or not. And honestly, lightning nuker is easy as hell to level. You can always add fire once you start farming at the cap. Not that big of a deal.

This is really a great approach I think!

Tonight I am starting a new character and will go with this unless someone finds a flaw in Cuchulainn's idea.

I am still waiting for the downside. When I reach level 70 and decide to switch to Fire Imbue, I purchase 30 (max is 30, I think for thunder series) SP realloc pots. What would I need the million gold and curst hearts for since I just bought the silk to reallocate? (sorry newb central here)

It's still a bit of a debate whether lightning is that much worse than fire or not. And honestly, lightning nuker is easy as hell to level. You can always add fire once you start farming at the cap. Not that big of a deal.

Again, this sounds great! However, I will quote you the reason I didn't try this approach:

Fly's guide says: "The fire imbue is stronger...The fire nuke is also stronger, faster, and hits farther...Lighting is the sub mastery and will be just as important to keep up. A lot of nukers go for lighting instead of fire as the main mastery. They end up quitting there character as soon as they begin to die, and there character does poorly in PvP.

Why on earth would they not simply buy back the light imbue and add fire imbue and all is fixed? I thought maybe there was something I didn't understand and scrapped the idea.

I'd only use 15-20 item mall ones since you're not gonna get much sp back by using more and might as well save some actual cash and just use in game gold instead.

Under level 30 skills only cost less than 100 sp. Is it worth it to not lose maybe 100 or so sp at the cost of 5 bucks?

There has to be a catch here :)

It sounds too good to be true. I still do not understand why Fly's friends were quitting and not simply unlearning the Light imbue and adding Fire.

That guide is a bit outdated.

Cuchulainn, thank you so much for the advice. I am going for it :O

Lightning Tree only, but I wanted to go Sword/Shield.

What would you take from that tree instead of Spear? (and would it slow down leveling much?)

And you just took Ghost Spear 1 only, no passive or Soul (stun)?

p.s. if this works, I will be praising you to high heaven... if not, well ... I hope you stub your toe really hard :D

I am a little less thrilled now because I ran some numbers for the Easiest PvE build mentioned in this thread.

If you only take:

20 Heuksal Mastery
*No Skills Taken, zero, nada

70 Lightning Mastery (Light Imbue & All Skills Max)
*No Passive
*No Concentration

Hypothetically, let's say you leveled with no gap and no farming to 70. You would level rapidly and effectively and have just enough SP to get the above skills (about 73,819).

Now at level 70, you want to 'fix' the character and make it a useful Fire/Lightning/Spear INT.

1. You spend some money buying silk and get rid of Lightning Imbue. You will also need in game gold and the curst heart quests for this.

2. When you go to start filling out your skills a bit, you notice that YOU LACK 103,725 SP. So it is time to pay the piper and come up with a huge amount of SP =p

NOTE: these numbers are based on base skills. If you want to really flesh out your skills and make your character viable at high levels, it is going to require LOTS and lots more SP than I have mentioned above. And even if you do not grind to 70 this way, you will still lack great gulfs of SP to make the character have a reasonable set of skills.

That's kinda the point. You level as fast as possible to the cap, then farm the rest of the sp to bring up the other stuff you want.

You'll get good drops at the cap and you can PVP and job much more effectively at the cap than at 16.

I think I'll follow my first idea for my girlfriends iSRO character.

It'll be a pure str ice blader in armor. This will be hard to level (-> no gap), but I'll support her with weapons and gear.

Bought a lvl1 SOM shield yesterday for 20k (though the seller wanted just 12k).
Does anyone have a SOX Blade lvl1 on RedSea?

if she's impatient, then she's not gonna want to grind with str blade. juss go int spear or sword and make sure to set autopot. if u absolutely must go str, go glaive or bow. blade is definately not for the impatient ones.
