Re: Battlefield 3
I think the beta key is only for the early access for people that ordered it through Origin. I could be wrong though. Open beta for everyone else goes like on Sept 29 at 9AM.

Re: Battlefield 3

Last time I left on vacation the day after it started. I only got in 3 rounds. Definitely going to make it up.

Something to consider.
Recommended is ATi 5830 or greater. I ran the nvidia test and my 5870 failed; I think it's because it's failing all non-nvidia cards.

Re: Battlefield 3
Surprisingly I run BCBF2 smoothly on Medium with a freaking 9600GT @ 1G. Apparently EA(whoever made the actual game) are very good at optimizing so hopefully i'll still be able to play the game smoothly on BF3.

Re: Battlefield 3
I Farking hate rush, it's impossible to keep a good KDR. That map is ridiculous for recon too. Every server is Rush + Metro; it's getting Farking annoying.
My KDR is terrible, 26.7% accuracy, 430 score per minute. I am not sure how I measure up to everyone else as I have no one to compare.

Re: Battlefield 3
Finally getting into it. I didn't know you can play without a scope and just use the iron sights on the sniper rifle. These 2 games took me from 7 to 11 and unlocked the silencer and red dot 0 zoom scope; rocking now.
I'm really loving the game the the website thing. Farking great.

Re: Battlefield 3
My weapon keeps dissapearing from my hands
At first I thought it was a GPU problem, but then even on Low I still have the same problem. I recently updated the drivers for the game so hopefully next reboot will run the game smoothly.

Alright one of you assholes took that code. I believe it was Ex, but I'm not sure. I'm going to cry and wait the next day now.

16vs16 on Operation Metro with rush. Or.. if you can get the password to Caspian Border it's 32vs32 conquest. You didn't hear this from me, but the password is Rumncoke and it's case sensitive unless they changed the password since.
Edit: I've been told by a buddy it's sexyelevator now. I would try, but well I can wait til tomorrow.

Re: Battlefield 3
What time does the beta go live tomorrow?
Edit: Oh my Farking god. I got an e-mail with a code yesterday (27th) and didn't think further when I saw that on their website, there wasn't a "DOWNLOAD ORIGIN" button and it basically shoved "pre-order" in your face.
I thought it was really just for ppl who pre-ordered even though the e-mail said I had access because of the MoH limited edition.
I hate EA so much, I can't even describe literally how much I hate them. Every single EA game I have ever played (and that's quite a few) I always had these stupid situations. Shitty support on release and full lack of development with most games post-release, the most retarded software, retarded account system, bah. Really disgusting. I checked the site when I got the email for 5 minutes and couldn't find an obvious "Download Origin" button anywhere. Well done EA, stupid shit company.
ANyways! downloading beta now >____________> at least their servers allow me to use my full 120mbit for a change. /madface

Enter either password when attempting to join a Caspian Border server. Unless they changed them since.

Played a little bit this morning, like really a LITTLE bit. Got annoyed by the controls, it always feels so sluggish :/ I'll give it some more time when I'm at my parents house though (playing here on an old 15' or something like that tv so yeah).

Props to chrisorg for the sig <3

Re: Battlefield 3
I played about 5 hours so far and I'm starting to like it more and more.
One thing I noticed is that you REALLY get a sense of warfare in this game, and they have definitely even further improved that aspect.
The physics and mechanics behind hitboxes etcetera are Farking dreadful though, like dog awful, and that will be the only reason I will not buy the game.
Props to gunsounds and feel, mechanics and physics are awful. As with MoH.

Re: Battlefield 3
I am LOVING the SKS. I'm using it like an assault rifle (just got holo scope and silencer) and it's Farking great.
SRF y u no wan play together
two issues:
CONTROLS: They feel sluggish because they're more like a Sim FPS than an Action FPS. You can't scope when you're getting up or going into prone, switching into crouch takes a couple seconds, etc. You get used to it and change your play style. You need to plan your moves, you can't just run through a door and expect to shoot 4 guys.
HIT BOXES: I have had no problems, all headshots register properly for me(152 kills/111 headshots on SV98). The only thing is that it's like BFBC2 - you need to lead your shots quite a bit and compensate for bullet drop.
EDIT: fail

My only gripe is that sometimes when I knife I do the quick slash animation and they die, other times it goes into 3rd person and takes like 4 seconds doing the big stealth kill thing. It results in me standing up vulnerable for 4 seconds and I always end up dying.

Re: Battlefield 3
Well that was odd..
My computer suddenly turned off on it's own. I did not accidentally press the power button or anything to cause it to turn off. Also I'm getting 15 frames on low on capsian border =[ Though with rush I get 25 nonstop on medium.

Re: Battlefield 3
Been playing it on 360, I'm liking it. It takes a round or two to get used to the style of game play. The game isn't perfect, I'm experiencing a graphical glitch every now and then, but the overall game play is pretty fun, for me at least.

Re: Battlefield 3
Well, this decided to poop on me. Can't play whatsoever. Having a terrible time joining a server in the first place, since 9/10 are full the moment the server list stops loading, and when I find a suitable one, the bloody game wont even load. Great. :/

Re: Battlefield 3
The collision detection is dreadful too. You come near a rock or a wall of sorts, and it starts tilting because the game is trying to keep you from falling through the map. Sometimes you crawl into a crater/rock/hill you just fall through period and when you crawl over a tiny bump, you crawl through it. So terrible, exact copy of MoH how do they expect to be succesful with this lump of amateuristic dribble?
To whoever replied on the hitboxes: They are fine, the hitboxes of objects however aren't, especially wall cornors. Some of them are nodraw and others just overextend and as a result you shoot someone in his face directly but he's chillin'. Also when you tap prone or crouch behind a rock you can easily still take bullets for 2 seconds. Huge interp in this game and it's rubbish, not gonna lie.
I'm genuinly mad at this game tbh. Mad that I bought MoH and to see an EXACT copy of that game now. They clearly haven't learnt from their mistakes. The things I mentioned can be fixed, but they won't fix it at all, and if they do , it's way after release. That is wrong, simple as that, and EA always manages to **** their shit up this way. Sigh
That said, the train station part within the building is actually awesome, and I love every minute of that. No glitches and stupid bugs, just good gameplay.
