keep looking at epvp macs. Yo321 is making a tutorial atm so I say by tomorrow you should be able to make your server on your local machine. Once you finish that you can just forward your ports and be good to go. Ill give advice along the way and try to fix up the teleports. Id like to open up areas as people level. 5-10x rates would be great

That would be awesome, like have it at 60 cap/areas for like 2-3 months, then 70 cap for 2 more, then 80 cap etc etc, the rates could be at the most 3x exp and 5-6x sp gold maybe like 2x or so. would be awesome. hell, you could just make a vote every few months to raise the cap or not even!

I would be willing to make a pvp server that could host pvp tornies but that's about it. I will basically make the server for a learning experience nothing more.

just remember, anyone who hosts a pserver from joymax will most likely get sued if they dont know how to bypass the legal crap

Yeah I don't think trying to host your own server with leaked official files is the smartest idea... All these pserver hosts are in countries where Joymax can't get to them or sue the owners. Don't want a ECSRO on your hands.

What fun is playing on a pserver with 100x rates? yay you got cap in a week. Enjoy pvping against a whole server of capped people with all epic gear..

Damn it sucks setting up the files. The tips and problem solutions are just bits and pieces everywhere gotta look everywhere to find what the problem is.

So what server has been sued other than ECSRO? ECSRO got sued more for the blatant gold selling and then selling of silk through that same gold selling site than anything else. I think they threw in the pserver as just case strengthening.

There are hundreds of pservers out there and only one was sued over a year and a half ago. I dont think that anyone is any kind of danger.

actually the only major psro servers available atm that are under almost no risk of being sued atm are zszc and esro and i know 100% for sure atm that esro can NOT be sued by joymax due to the location of the hosting

Hey everyone. I was a Gm over at ecsro. I was friends with the owner Ocean which was a chinese guy. Now some are right in some ways it matters where you get the server boxes at. But another thing is you cannot just take the server files and start up a private server. Yes you can do it locally because then its ran behind your router. But you have to change names in it. Ecsro screwed up due to the fact Ocean didnt allow anyone to change anything in the database. He wanted everything to stay the same. Notice it was still called silk and alot of stuff was isro? Well thats where joymax had them at. They got sued for copyright infringment. If may take some time out and if you know xml and mysql then you can go in and re-write everything and change names around and make it to where silkroad is nowhere in the game at all. And they cannot sue you. Its kinda like coke and pepsi. You dont see coke or pepsi suing each other b/c they both have a cola out there. Its the same thing its just different ingredients here and there and they both have patents and copyrights on their product. Well its the same way. If you can find a way to change everything and i mean everything in game they cannot sue you. But if you host a server in germany or another country you dont have to worry because they cant sue you anyways. Anymore I dont think joymax is going to go after all of these servers as they are working on Silkroad Online 2 which will be out in a year or so. But just wanted to clarify why ecsro got sued for everyones enjoyment I guess you could say

Well, the official server files don't really use mysql, nor do you need to use anything xml related to change the name of 'silk'. Changing the game completely, into a way that it does not resemble real silkroad anymore is not worth it. You would be far better off just starting a new mmo from scrap than editing a game as silkroad in such a way

Germany is even a worse place to host it than in the US, or even next to the joymax main building, really. far better off hosting it in eastern europe, africa or south america legal-wise
