I'll just say. It was a bit of an overreaction. I can't say that it all went my way though. The two are in a relationship now, idk how that'll work with long distance, but hey, they can do it if they want to.

I think it was the best conclusion (also expected too). I mean, committed... pfft. It was obvious the fact the other guy went over the state the girl live in (same as yours).
And tbh, they won't last that much, if you add school, distance and other factors. Build her friendship at least, maybe at the start she will ignore you because of her newly boyfriend, but at the long run she will come to you in no time (as a friend ).

Sorry, haven't read through all the replies, sorry if I have missed something.
From the start she has said that she is "committed" to someone else, not quite sure what she actually means by this. That basically tells me that she isn't interested with you, and probably only wants to be friends, so just be a friend.
