Yea, I dont know how i feel about switching whenever you want. Even with the option many people just used retro and a sawed off, and as you said, you can adjust how you play to it once you get used to it. They couldnt have asked for a more active beta, so I hope they really took their time to adjust imabalances or anything needing adjusting.
Blackdragon6 wrote:Sawed off Distance is fine. I have been so close I could melee someone and it didn't kill them, but I almost always get 1 shot from ppl that do the same. It's a matter of Aiming before firing, or firing from the hip really. It makes a bigger difference than you'd realize. I actually got the most enjoyment with it from ppl rolling into me trying to blast me and I got them first. Great feeling.
I hated going against Retro's, but I loved using it solely because of the bayonet. That thing was fun to get kills with. Retro + actives = Brutal as well. I wouldn't have em change a thing about it because it's so fun to use.
Im not sure how you missed people when you can melee them lol. I saw people clearing anyone remotely in front of them and even to the sides of dead ahead, i hope they at least have to aim for it and its not hip fire that does that.
I had one game where a guy moved with the bayonet run all game through Thrashball. turning corners, entering a room, whatever it was. I should have the gameplay still. I remember is name too, X Rainspider X. somethin to that effect. Anyone I loathed and remember their name after this long was usually someone rocking a Retro & S/O. Bayonet was cool, but dude I felt godly with that Hammerburst. I wouldn't trade it.
iSinnnn wrote:the problem with both weapons is that they're both so extremely easy to use effectively, and have such a small skill gap between the bottom and the top. then when the majority of the game starts using them it just becomes extremely stale, and even more annoying.
Correct, thats what bugged me. If these weapons were lethal as they are but it took some sort of defined skill to use, I would be much more accepting. Id hunt people on the map who exploited them because they drove me nuts. If you were on a team with no teamwork/mics vs a team of Retro/Sawed Offs, you were fugged.
Id be surprised if they changed nothing as well. All the feedback and all the data from just doin the beta should bring some tweaks. I took down Sawed Offs, I took down Retro users, you adjust to it. But some of the shit was ridiculous. And if they can get the digger working better and not dissappearin on a certain part of cover vs a few inches down where it moved through, that would be sweet too. Because I couldnt get enough of that gun lol.
