Ive heard of a site called ninite which has a great concept of installing all the programs u want in a new pc build without having to search for the installers and such, using one simple download to install all the programs you would install is a great time saver.
Heres the problem... It auto installs into program files and i do not like this. I like to keep my program installations and things organised so i can quickly get to them rather then searching through the crap naming and folder system that some programs use as default.
Does anyone know of a website or program like this? Or any other programs or websites they recommend for a rebuild?
Thanks guiez!

There's a reason programs install to c:\program files - it's because certain Windows installs mean that a user shouldn't have admin rights, and that normal users get rights to program files but not everything on the drive. It's one way to partially correct the crappy design/code that Microsoft used.
Kinda like Linux, where you are NOT root or SU all the time.
Never heard of this "ninite" - actually looks ok, but my rebuilds involve ghost images anyway. Lose the OS? Reimage PC, pull down updates and drivers, done. Google nlite and slipstreaming.

nlite seems to do the opposite for what i want. it removes this from the original os and im using windows 7...
slipstreaming seems to be adding to the os installation which would come in handy but it would mean id need a stable way to slipstream programs and applications and folders into windows 7 and im not sure thats out there yet.
the reason i dont like "program files" is because of the lame naming system and junk that gets forced in there by applications. NO I DO NOT WANT YAHOO TOOLBAR stuff
also many viruses and things like to hide themselves in program files all too frequently under a name that is common to a pc user such as wmplayer.exe or something

Re: pc rebuild program installer
I hate having 2 Program Files folders on my C, one is for 32bit and the other for 64bit stuff. And it sucks that every program sets the default install directory to C, but i got loads of more space on D so i gotta change it all the time. And i gotta look what's more important and what's less so i intall the important stuff on C.
My brothers PC that i used before had H drive instead of C or D. So that was kinda weird.

yep. ninite seems like a really useful tool until i found you couldnt change where you installed stuff to and that has really put me off this program.
i also install my programs to a seperate hdd as i use a faster and smaller hdd for other uses like video editing and things.
i wish i could change file locations or create a application that creates the folders and set ups that i use for a new build pc.
