With the amount flooding the market, the overclockability, and the android scene's drive to port to this device, I don't see it dying out anytime soon. It will become user supported. Hell, I've even heard they are trying to port iOS to it.
Edit: For ppl that think it sucks, it doesn't. It might be slow at first, but if you follow some online guides to disable all the excessive HP logs, it speeds up a lot. I've played with the ipad, asus, zoom, and the touchpad, and I gotta say, although it doesn't have as many apps as the others right now, for 100$, it is definitely a steal. The flash playing ability is awesome, and it has pretty much the same functionality. For someone who wanted a tablet for work and play, it is a steal. Sucks for anyone who didn't get one.
