They couldn't take down Amazon when they tried, I'm sure FB has even more of an ability to fight than them. And if they did take it down, it would be back up in no time...
Don't think it will happen , Facebook got millions over millions accounts , won't be easy and well giving a "warning" 3 month before starting doing anything isn't a very smart move .
At the very least if they get into facebook , Facebook would probably have a backup saved , so you can't really lose the account .

November is the 11th month, we're on the 8th, that's 3 months advance notice...
Their idea of killing facebook, will probably be a day of ddos, then patting themselves on the back after it gets back up.

Was reading multiple threads , so forgot the month they were going to "attempt" hacking facebook .

reading over their history of recent hacks, it seems all they've done is ddos with botnets and sql injects, doubt that'll work on facebook. Maybe they're trying to pull that pay pal thing again and see if stocks drop.
Of course it is possible. There is no server that can hold a DDOS attack as long as it's big enough!
They're not talking about completely taking Facebook down in the meaning that it will never get up again. They're simply mnaking Facebook unavailable for some time.
Meh. Them and their obsession with the whole gunpowder treason... I still find it odd that "Anonymous" can be called a hacker group when it's just a bunch of anime freaks, pedophiles, lolcat fanatics, furries, socially-retarded adults, odd teenagers who are stuck in "stupid phase" of a prolonged puberty, and of course, some occasional "hackers" that just happen to use the site to organize some pointless online movement. The only thing they have in common is that they go to 4Chan and suddenly "oh look at me I'm so underground and cool - I have access to /b/! I'm a member of Anon!" Ugh..shoot yourself in the face.
These cats are full of themselves...or they have a well developed plan on how they're gonna do it. Giving their target 3 months heads up is like saying "We don't care what you do to fortify your system we'll still bring you down" It's a bit cocky if you ask me. However if it does happen then facebook would definitely deserve it.

Anon has changed a LOT since I last heard about it. Bee aint gona be anyone's personal army anymore nor do they like taking anyone's shit. There has been a lot of Destructive Operational Banners I've seen from Gee since the first time I've stepped in and Until now. But little or none have been successfully been in full operation, and if it were successful it would've easily died anyways.
I guess the original people that used to form Anon, the people makes it's name such a feared among hundreds of people stopped and continued to live a decent life. But now, its just... Just Different
I don't get people that go "HAHA YEAH FB SUCK IT HARD" . You may not like it, even despise it, but you shouldn't have a reason to want it "destroyed". It's just a successful business like another.

When they attacked Paypal with only moments notice, Paypal was able to swap their servers between different IP addresses constantly. With 3 months notice, I don't think they'll be able to do much to an even bigger company.

Kind of how Mark Zuckerberg wanted to destroy the Winklevoss brothers and succeeded and is not a billionaire due to the fact he flat out farked them over and stole everything from them. I personally do hope for some revenge on Zuckerberg and hope they **** up facebook, and people will realize that google+ is awesome (minus the low amount of people on it).
