Chains are for panzies and/or n00bs. Only two attacks matter and you all know what they are. The spear throw also comes in handy for killing pure nukers if it crits on impact. So i guess 2 skills and 1 secondary. However, if you wanna dance around like a ******, jumping in the air and flailing your arms and legs around like an idiot, be my guess and get the chain series. If you don't win, you're bound to look pretty.

way to force your opinion onto others.
having a high crit weapon or one with high damaga makes chains perfectly reasonable in pvp. it works fine for me. so why not let people say what they do and not act like a douche when they do.

typical PvP combos:
nuke - Soul Spear Soul - Ghost Spear Mars
Soul Spear Truth - Soul Spear Soul - Ghost Spear Mars
if from a distance: nuke - Flying Dragon Fly - Earth Lion Shout
i definitely use SSS and GSM the most though, for PvP and PvE.
in my experience, the chains are pretty useless in PvP, EXCEPT for the last one. all of hits hits are pretty strong, and it does more dmg over time than, say, using the two Soul Spear attacks together. however, i can still pot the dmg off way too easily for it to be a real threat MOST of the time (though i know a certain person w/ a +9 spear *cough*jabbers*cough* who still hurts bad with it). most of the time, though, when someone uses a chain on me, i think "pssh, awesome, this'll be an easy fight". just being honest.

Typically I use Nuke + GSM + SSS if I'm from range. I start with SSS if already close.
Why GSM before SSS ? Just because the disabling effect has a higher % so I get a better chance to do my 3 skills before dying/being stunned / kd.
Hybrids may not have this problem. Except against SOS glaives.

the last chain (pluto) is good if you can get it off without it being interrupted, which is hard but there r two ways : you use it right after u stun them (best way) or right after you cast a fire/ice wall and theyre in range. Its has some strong hits but also has quick recovery time so u can do ghost spear or nuke right after an it'll look cooL
achmalach wrote:but isn't one of the keys also speed?
SSS and GSM are very slow... while nachal and pluto are fast (as are all the chains)...
SSS is just as fast as a nuke if not faster. BUT the damage is taken in account when you start the skills, where nuke damage is taken only at the end.
Small example : you are int spear fighting another int spear. To make it fun you both wear armor so the duel never last for more than 2 seconds. You cast a pluto chain, and at the exact same time the other int starts a SSS. Both of these 2 attacks do enough damage to kill both of you. Who wins ?
Here is what happens : the pluto chain will start to cast and then you will stop and do nothing since the game has already calculated that you are dead bacause of the SSS (I'm pretty sure you don't even do the first strike of your chain). That happens EVEN IF YOU DON'T STUN.
Add to this that SSS does very good damage and can stun = great skill.
About the GSM : you think it's slow ? Actually it's the quicker skill after combo arrows. Does very good damages too, close to insane on crit
(thinking about this, there is a common bug on GSM : sometimes the skills crit but it doesn't appear as a crit, with the small Critical tag under the dmg)
Same as SSS, damages are calculated just before the skill actually does its damages. Knockback is very nice too, which makes this skill a must-have.

Advice is nice and all but it all depends on your situation, not only who you face but your personal eq and experience fighting your opponent. So play around and even if you think you have a "win" combination keep playing around.
My skills tat i use are as such.
Soul Soul/Truth
Ghost Spear Mars/Prince
Spirit Crash Spear
Fire Wall
Fly Dragon Fly/that other one
Ghost Walk
I would use chains but I'm still leveling those
and of course fire imbue.
lol I use so much cuz unfortunately I dun have the best gear or farmed skills so I can't just stand there and soul soul and deal and take the damage.
I'm thinking of trying out that spinning glaive move too, I tried it out in battle and maybe if i can get the timing right it might be of some use.
*Btw in case some of u didnt notice any of the GS series is based on luck usually it does like 2000 damage or something like that, but sometimes it'll do 1000 o.0 and other times 4000. So if you like playing the lottery maybe you'll hit the jackpot 4000 in crit = 8000 damage. course, in reality imbue doesnt crit so minus tat damage, but either way it's still KO worthy damage dealt.
