Why should I tip anyone after I've payed too much for my overpriced meal? Lol the average service you get in a normal Dutch restaurant is horrible. One restaurant I went to even charged me 50 cent for using the toilet after I already ordered food for like 30 euros. No, I don't do tips either and I'm not black.

And i bet statistically that's probably not true. I bet that statistically every race tips evenly but since there are less minorities the view gets skewed. Taking into account that certain minorities (asians + others) prefer to dine at their own establishments, the view of who is eating at your shitty Red Lobster gets even more skewed. But you don't complain about the white guy not tipping you. He's just a guy not tipping you. But when a black guy isn't tipping you, he's not just a guy, he's a black guy. So now we're looking at a good 35ish minutes, and I'm making $4.25 the whole time. Not to mention having to pay for the gas it took to get to your house.

So yes, I actually lose money if you people don't tip. And it's incredibly annoying. If you're not going to tip, go pick up your own damn pizza.

anyway most delivery places around here tack on a delivery fee so if i work for 7.00 (min-wage) an hour and i order a $10 pizza plus the 3 dollar delivery fee + whatever tip you're expecting i could be paying anywhere from $14-17 which is about 2 hours worth of my life. When u take in just the delivery fee and the tip you'll be expecting it'll probably run $7 so your 30 mins of work cost an hour of my work if you delivered for a pizza place around here. But wait, it gets better.

When u take distance into account most speed limits in rural areas are about 30-45mph so in half an hour you should be able to cover 15 miles. The average pizza place probably delivers within a 5 mile radius of its location at most unless they're the only pizza place for miles so the only reason why it should take you 30min round trip in driving alone is

1. You don't know the area.
2. You're driving incredibly slowly.

Also you can cut that shit out where walking to the door takes 3-4 minutes. Unless you deliver to mansions that require you to leave your car at the gateway you should be out of your car and at the door in a matter of seconds.

So the way i see it, the only way it should take 15 min per delivery is if you're delivering to the farthest part of your delivery zone every trip. Any other time, which is probably most deliveries it should take you 6-10 min there and back depending on traffic. So that's anywhere from 3-5 deliveries per hour if you're going back and forth within a fair distance from pizza place to store and only making 1 delivery per trip. So all it takes is 1 person tipping u $3 for you to make min-wage per hour and anything after that is extra/gas money. Even if 3 ppl tip you only a dollar you're still back at min-wage.

Now you can fiddle with my numbers but my friends have been delivery guys so i know what they make. They have good nights and bad nights but on average they'll make more than someone who makes min-wage even after you remove gas from the equation.

That's not the point. The point is the customer is already paying extra for having the pizza delivered. It's not the customers fault that the management doesn't put that money back into your pocket. What you get is called a tip for a reason. The customer has paid for the pizza, they've paid for you to deliver the pizza. Everything else they give is extra, as in you haven't earned it and have no right to expect it.

Even if 1/3 of your deliveries are to places that are 15 minutes away you still come out even or ahead at the end of the week if everyone tips u $1. If you're delivering to places that are 15 min away then you're servicing a large area or you're very popular. Either way that should only increase the amount of money you make with more customers= more deliveries. There should be no reason why u can't make 2-3 deliveries in 1 trip if they're lined up correctly which is what you should be doing if you have to go that far from your work place to make 1 delivery.

Again it's not getting stiffed. It's a tip. You didn't earn it. It's extra. Your services were paid for. If you don't like having a job that relies on charity, which is basically what it is, then maybe you should find a better one. But that is the nature of the delivery business and you should've known that before you signed on and if you didn't then you certainly know it now.

So sometimes its a matter of seconds sometimes a couple minutes. Again that's the nature of the business. I don't think you've always had your money lined up and waiting when the delivery guy gets there. You might do that now but you probably don't.

In Belgium the tip/service is included in the price, so tipping isn't necesary in Belgium.
In other countries it isn't like that & a lot of people don't know/stand still at that fact.
