@Fragments are used for crafting Crude stuff which are further used for enhancing. For example, onyx fragments are materials used for Crude Onyx. Sapphire fragments for Crude sapphires, etc.

@Crests are items you get in dungeons. Crests can be further crafted by combining some Crude items + plates.

@Abyss: Idk if you have to unlock, but in certain dungeons I haven't done anything special and I got the Abyss difficulty (solo and party). So, maybe it depends on dungeon and how many places within the dungeon you have opened (probably the latter).

Just something i found in FAQ :

The game won’t let me play on the Abyss level. Why?

Players must clear dungeons on lower difficulty levels before higher levels cab be unlocked. Certain beginner dungeons may not have an Abyss difficulty level.



Difficulty Selection:

Most dungeons have five levels of difficulty. Completing a dungeon on a higher level of difficulty gives more EXP and rewards.

Easy: A selectable setting if you’d prefer not to start on Normal. Monsters move slower and have fewer hit points.
Normal: Standard difficulty. First difficulty level available when a dungeon is opened.
Hard: Unlocked by beating dungeon on Normal. Monsters appear in greater numbers and are harder to kill. Monster groups may spawn a harder version with a random special power.
Master: Unlocked by beating dungeon on Hard. Monsters appear in large numbers and are much harder to kill. Every group has a very good chance of spawning an elite monster.
Abyss: The toughest challenge. Monsters appear in a large mass and are very difficult to kill. Every group will have one or more elite monsters. Oh and level +10 weapon at level 10 op op op. Instead of npcing everything I end up +8ing or breaking everything lol. +10 lv 10 green cleric mace. Too bad the axes I made +9 didn't go 10.

Toshiharu - Warrior. If we have a guild I don't mind giving the +10 away unless I break it.

Abyss is very very difficult to do solo. You need at least 2-3 people.

I have broken so many shit trying to +.. good thing is that it doesn't cost nothing to upgrade lol

I just did abyssal alone on the worst dungeon I could have picked. You know the flipping bitches? Yeah. That was annoying when all 5 wouldn't leave me alone in a corner. 2 bosses spawned and dropped an orange unlock stat armor item. Then a bunny spawned with a jack in the box and gave me cake..

Cake went to Irine at the newbie area.

I have a +9 mace of whatever the hell a warrior uses and +9 armor with all unlocked stats. I just did abyss/master until I got bored then I massed all the quests at level 13. It's enough to get to level 15.5 then I went and took a nap.

Oh don't NPC your weapon drops. Try and +8 them and if it breaks oh well that's like 2silver wasted. If it's +8 put it on market for 2gold and it's sold within an hour. I ended up using that money and buying green gear to +8. I'm not sure if the crude diamond thingies drop.. I've crafted 2 and become sad that my +8 mace stayed +8.
