Microphone derping.

Post by Skyve »

So I bought a headset a couple days ago (Logithec ClearChat Style I believe) and it was working fine for two days and then it just stopped working.

I've tried to change numeral settings through the Control Panel and TeamSpeaks Capture settings but I get nothing. Everyone in the channel will hear a constant static, but no sound. When I use the "Test" feature on TeamSpeak, the bar barely moves as it only detects static. :x Yes, made sure the mic isn't muted and that the drivers are updated.

Pictures of my settings.

Try setting your capture device to the actual mic. Also, show the properties for the mic through windows.

Okay just found out that the microphone enabled on the first screenshot is actually my built-in one because I started talking without my headset plugged in and the green bars went up.

That being said, even when I play my Headset, "Line In" still stays it's unplugged.

It just won't detect it anymore. When I check my recording devices, there's only the built-in one enabled :( .

P.S: What the **** is a virtual audio cable?

I got the exact same problems with my mic, they work for 1 or 2 days then they shut down. Tried mixing with the settings both in TS3 and in Windows, nothing works. Friend of mine told it may be the soundcard fucking with me. I've tried with 4 different kind of mics and they all end up dying, tho they do work on different computers.

I'm trying to isolate the source of the problem. I know it can't be a driver error because it's not a USB. Because it's a jack one (green+pink), the problem must be my audio card (Guessing it's built-in my laptop?). Then again, that couldn't be my problem because my built-in microphone works perfectly.

That being said, only possible problem would be that I somehow muted my microphone but I've checked literally everything...

And I still don't get why it says it's not plugged in when it is, unless it's not talking about my headset...

Hmm, do you have another computer you can try to see if the problem is in the Headset?

Bigger mindfuck is that "Line In" which I believe is my headset uses a blue jack. When I put the audio jack in the blue one it is recognized as "plugged in". So maybe my headset isn't "Line In" afterall.

Should be using the red one for your mic, not line in.

Yea if 2 different computers do it, Headset issue. I use only USB headsets. Saves me trouble.
