Are you kidding me? 30 fps makes me a little angry.. MW3 runs at no less than 60fps on consoles. That is their #1 Rule. Don't think I'm saying 30fps is BAD, because most games rune at 30fps console nowadays, just saying 60 feels soo smooth and playing Mw3 then going to Battlefield 3 is going to feel a little jarring. That's just my experience anyways.

I remember that the average person couldn't even see the difference above 20 fps or something? Then again that was several years ago and more and more people look at screens several hours a day so I guess that changed by now. I still don't see the problem, pretty sure 30 fps will be fast enough lol

i thought the avg is 60fps. i can definitely tell a difference between 30 and 60. 60 used to be my goal for running CS on my old old computer back in the days

Uh.. You do know you are comparing a game that really hasn't changed anything to the engine in years to one that is completely new, right? I can assume the specs being the same as Modern Warfare 1 for MW3 if they haven't modified the engine at all. So of course they'll be able to run 60frames on the consoles. Oh I'd also like to say a buddy said he was able to run MW2 on max on his shitty computer. How 'bad' was that computer? I'm not sure, but he said it wasn't able to play.. uhh for comparison between CoD and BF.. one of the games he said was Bad Company 2.

Oh and BF3 has no DX9 support iirc hearing. Not sure how that changes anything between PC/consoles.

inb4 i get called a fanboy

I'm sure they can make it run at 60fps no problem, but then the game will not look anything like the same as it does on the PC. Which is what I'm 99% sure they're trying to aim for. Oh and that BF3 was made for the PC to be ported to the consoles.

Either way 30 frames is still 'smooth' to me.

Part/all of the E3 presentation from BF3 was done on the xbox/ps3. So I dunno what you guys thought about that but if it was running smooth I don't think you'll have to worry...or argue.

Actually the Engine is "6.0" for Mw3. They just don't announce that to the public (except at E3 in an interview)
And yea 30 is still smooth. But Playing Mw2 a lot and then switching to something with a lower fps, that's the only time you can tell the difference. Mw3 is my #1 priority for Fall games. Battlefield 3 is a very close second though. Definitely getting both. And running it on Max on a crappy computer, isn't that a good thing?

Mind if you give me a source on that interview?

Running a game on max on a crappy computer.. I suppose it's a good thing on the bright side.

Everything they shown was done from the PC. They even said before they started it and during the game it even says keyboard keys. Even the play area was all on PC with the ability to use a controller.

If you went to our press conference, you saw the PS3 footage and the Xbox footage.

MW2 has a slight upgrade on MW engine. MW3 will have a slight upgrade on MW2 engine.

All their adding to this engine i heard was destructible environments. The graphics wont be any better. Activision are taking advantage of their fans. All that'll be new about the game is the monthly subscription.

Edit: "This runs on the MW3 engine, which would typically be named IW5 but out of respect of our co-development partners at Sledgehammer games we are simply referring to it as the MW3 engine. It is upgraded from the engine we used in Modern Warfare 2. There have been a lot of advances, mostly in streaming tech to allow us to get the scale of levels we’re doing in Modern Warfare 3 and maintain gameplay consistency with the framerate and smoothness. We’ve got a lot of audio stuff mostly adding situational awareness like bullet wizzbys and other subtle upgrades. A lot of lighting stuff updates as well."

Thats what the "new" engine will do - so dont get excited.

If there is an engine you guys should be talking about, its Frostbite 2.0
I´m looking forward to the 32vs32 battles on PC with 2.0 :D

Oh well then.. Guess I'm wrong. Though the PC demo is still makes me hard. lol

Oh and if anyone cares they'll play it on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on June 16 on the PS3.

Well thanks for that information from both of you guys. Guess I'm wrong again, but I find it funny they're naming the "Infinity Ward" engine to "Modern Warfare 3" engine. I also laughed during the interview they said it isn't a big deal to mention the engine updates or whatever they said. I love to see improvements =[ I just don't want my computer to be able to play any game. I like to see developers push the limits once again. Though I would like to see those audio updates.

Has there been any news of MW3 containing DX11?

Yea, got a little off topic somewhere between comparing this to mw3. I'm getting Both cuz I can't decide between either. They both make me happy in pants. It's going to irritate me SOOOO much that these will be out when I'm in Class Full time and working again =\ Why can't crappy games come out when school starts and good games early summer...
I did Find out, Mw3 is allegedly using DirectX9
I say allegedly because I can't find official confirmation, but I have seen that around a few placed.

I posted some Info in the Mw3 Thread. viewtopic.php?f=76&t=128477&p=1893512#p1893512

Titan mode.. ehhh, not for me.

I want a conquest mode which is actually good again. BC2 had terrible conquest, always 3 flags which kinda ruined the whole point of conquest.

PC all the way.

what you expect from 6 year old gaming machines vs a modern pc.

Ps3 is more Stable.
PC is upgradable.

I love both though. I just don't play shooters on PC.

I still think it looks pretty damn amazing on a 6 year old machine. Considering it was originally coded for the PC and ported to consoles I did expect a huge gap between the two.

Have any of you seen HOW they make most modern games now? They actually map the entire skeleton/muscle/tissue. It's insanely cool especially on PC max.

If one were to try to get a computer to play this on high, maybe even highest, settings, how much would that set them back? I played BF2 on the highest settings on my PC and loved it. This, this looks like it's on another world. I haven't played a serious computer game since then so it's no joke that I am far behind in gaming hardware. Anyone have a clue how much I would have to shell out?

The requirements or a demo hasn't been released so who knows. If anything I'm guessing around $700 on a newly built PC. Upgrading gfx card? Probably a 560 would do it.

A friend of mine is helping me build a PC that can meet the recommended requirements for the game, and I'm assuming it can run the game on high. The build is going to cost me somewhere between $550 to $700

I'm amazed that it's "that cheap." I would have expected it to be more than that to run a game like this. Maybe times have changed?
