Building temples, upgrading buildings and stationing units there.

How's the gameplay feel to ya'll? I used to play these types of games back in the days quite often and I kinda want to get back into it lol. Is it worth the buy?

well, here are the pros and cons as i see it:
pros:
- excellent graphics (although some feel everything look too colourful and shinny)
- plenty of motion captured fights
- great japanese style
- well optimized game engine (compared to empire)
- multiplayer avatar conquest is interesting
cons:
- battle is too fast paced and less tactical (feels more arcade-ish than strategic)
- campaign map is too narrowly focused, japan alone simply do not give u the proper feel of a GRAND campaign that empire does
- multiplayer matchmaking does not work properly (and there are too few low levels so a new player has a very very good chance of getting matched with a high level)
- they've also disabled the ladder afaik cuz of all the bugs
- lack of modding support for total conversion mods
get the game if you:
- love total war games
- prefer sword fights over muskets
- want the latest graphics OR love the japanese setting
- you are okay with the smaller scope of the game
- you play multiplayer for fun and not for ladder e-penis
