Why dont Bows Do Good??

are bows really that bad at PvP?? .. i was planing to make one and i would like to do good at pvp but if there tnot so good id like to know know before i make a big mistake..

any bow users out there that could share there experiences at Pvp??

Bows arent perfect at 1v1, but are great in wars.

Yeah, they suck PvP as stated above. What's worse is ice-bow. Almost everyone, including myself, is immune to freeze. It's good for support since you've got range and can attack from far away, picking off people with crits.

However, I think this bowman would rape any of us:

Actually, bows can be good at pvp... tho for them to be able to do sufficient damage i think they would need to be a hybrid build. I have fought alot of pure str bow users (as a pure int) and unless they have had an sos or +7 bow with high crit, i have almost always been able to tank.

The only advice i can offer you is, if you want to be a bow user, and do well at pvp, go hybrid... maybe 1:1 or 1:2 int.

I have seen hybrid bow builds out perform pure str bows in pvp. Perhaps it was due to equipment... i don't know, but i hardly think that it's a build to be "joked around about."

It's also an excellent build for unique killing :wink:

take Wind from aege for example, a balanced hybrid bow on Aege, he's almost always killing Isy, he also kicks ass in pvp. So there is your proof that it isn't a sucky build.

good for you to be able to tank bows, actually i love having my bow guildmates as running mates in hunter or thief runs. They scout and are able to run away the best, and when you target someone, you know they'll be at a safe distance ready to launch an extra 3-9k of damage depending on how lucky they get with crits

and when you are already dealing out tons of damage up close, that extra damage can be a huge blessing.

The only way you can do a hybrid bow right is if you reroll it.

yea bows arnt the best at pvp so we gotta act sneaky. snipe some retreat hit and run etc.

str fire and light is what i am and its going good for me.
if you are going hybrid, bowers are not the way to go

btw im actually thinking about getting autumn wind, seeing that i only have 4 pvp skills, i want some input as to how autumn wind would help in pvp.

It would help your opponent more than it would help you.

Bows do alot of dmg, more then glaivers(devil arrow at least does more then any glaive skill) I think, but the skills are slower, and the combo really sux, (+50%) really sux, it barely does anything in pvp, the only reason they arent that good is because they dont have anyhting to stop atks like glaivers and bladers do, I have killed a str glaiver before, and then couldnt kill him if he stuns, so definatly the dmg isnt to weak for 1on1.

My build is 105% phys 47% mag balance, with a +5 64bow(ugh, now actualy I tried to +6 and ended up with +4, cant get +5 back -.-).

Gah why do people think bows suck. They do the most damage IMO, and completely own nukers. For everyone on Xian whos knows Lau (don't know the whole name) she is in full SOS and yoxoyo 2-3 hits her with his bow >.>

We can kill nukers easy, 1-2 crits tops with arrow combo.

But glaives and blades can too.

Seeing as how the bow does in pvp, I have to guess the only attacks you have at the cap that are worth while are anti devi/ and devil arrow (optional arrow combo to fight autopot)

All in all bow is a good build, very nice unique killer and kser. Once you get your 3rd book anti devil, grinding gets soo much bearable at higher levels. every 3rd-4th shot is a guaranteed crit.

So yeah, archers can lvl up pretty quick since they don't have to move up to the mob and kill it.

I still think JoyMax should implement miss as an archer only buff *lvl 60. Hey we can all dream right.

Archers only seem to suck because people fight like they have a glaive. They run in head first and use 2 skills over and over again and don't know when to retreat. Bow isn't good in 1v1 but great in group pvp when used correctly.

I always feel like being bow user is sucky because everyone questing around me seem to do higher damage and I always use +3 bows with anti-devil bow up to my lvl. But maybe they are actually higher lvl but wearing lower lvl equipment. I don't know...I always feel incompetent as a bow user.

Anyhoot, what do you think of an Int-Hybrid, Bow/Nuker?

Lau, phunky, duck, any others like that shouldnt be compared to fighting normaly because they are decked out in sos, even a really strong normal player with really good normal gear wont stand a chance <_<, hopefully by the time we get 3rd set of 8th degree it will be diff though.
