DJ, when we talk about "tanking" a huge group of people, running is often a way to reduce damage for at least a short amount of time.

Thats not gonna happen unless you have full sos(= the point), like phunky, you cant just run away from a group of ppl atking you that easy, and even if you do unless just a couple ppl or so chase you your not gonna be able to just kill 1 then repeat, because its not like everyone else is gonna just stand there and do nothing,

I've been in plenty of job wars where all I had to do was run out the gate and I'd be able to get a 1v1 or 2v1 matchup. Everyone chases me at first, then after a bit, people turn back. Once I have a matchup that favors me (2-3 people that aren't invicible), I stop and fight. Everyone else does stand there and do nothing because they are back at the gate standing there looking stupid while a couple of their mates are fighting.

ok people.. i am not DENYING the fact that phunky is a very very good player

but u guys keep saying that phunky worked for his SOs.. lvl

Everyone (including me, Tomoko, DJ and lots of people) worked for their lvl and SOS... that doesnt make them Outstanding. It makes them NORMAL, because that what a player should do

I see why now cause SuicideGirl is the admin of this side and obviously phunky would be biased. Not that i am against it or anything. I dont mind BH and neither do they mind me =/

and with phunky kill Weed...

i seen what kind of dmg phunky do on full sos..

Phunky did a stab (no critic. with fire imbue) on Lau.. the first Stab(double stab) was 800 ish... i dont know how much the 2nd one did on Lau cause LauEBay died already.. (alot of people stabbing her)

SOS +7 blade is nice.. but it can be neutralized with SOS armour

ok the first stad of double stab will do dmh like that and phunky still owned lau and was still super stong even when he didnt have sos shield so dont just say cause he has all sos imo he is the strongest legit player in isro

Yes, but phunky worked harder, faster. He was one of the first fully farmed level 70s. And he got lucky/worked enough get a better set then most people will ever have. That's what makes him outstanding. It has nothing to do with him being in BlackHand, he could run solo and he'd still be the Legendary Phunky.

The first stab of double stab usually does crappy damage unless it's a crit. It's only there to keep the DOT and counteract pots. The second stab is the killing blow.

That's a good way to not die, but it's not tanking. Tanks are not known for their dexterity. Tanks are tanks because they sit there and get pounded on and don't go down. Sure, in SRO right now there's not a strong class system and damage is huge relative to HP, but if you're running away it's because you can't tank.

Tomoko is an extremely nice person and very humble. one of the reasons i like him (as far as i know, it's a male player). it's also one of the reasons people like phunky. he's loyal, humble, and a generally nice guy. he's part of the glue that holds BH together.

that being said, it's not his gear that makes him great (though it definitely helps a lot). his skills, his style, and the strange and outside-the-box thinking are what makes people run when he is jobbing. everyone has heard the stories of multiple 70s zerking him and him living, but it's not because he's some sort of SRO god or anything. he's smart, and the smart player will always win. he posted his hotbars on our private forum once, and you'd be very surprised at some of the skills he uses regularly. his advantage lies as much in keeping you off-balance as it does in his great dmg and strong defense.

phunky's nick is "Unbreakable", but it not only describes his skill and his reputation, but also his friendship, his loyalty, and the bond he has with his brothers- and sisters-in-arms.

IIRC, she got hacked/she sold her account, either way, she doesn't play anymore last I knew.

phunky = GOD!!!!!

He let me see what my max damage on him was... I was able to hit 5.5k on him at a max (non-zerked)..he also wears armor, so being a nuker made it ezier. He is so freaking godly. When i told him to fight back, he hit a 4.5K crit KD on me and double stab.. me = DEAD lol

Tomoko is pretty good too ;-)

And they're not raising the mastery-gap, so, if he gets his hands on a nice weap he'll be good to go. And as SG wrote, he's not all about gear.

alas she is a pure int with 114% mag balance and a SOS+5 sword but still...

an int gets close to killing the best tanker on the server...

hes good but hes not unkillable...

*chough*.. sry but i have to say that i have yet to beat phunky.. i have said that all the times i have fought him (wich isnt many since i got my sos sword and some sos armor) i have ALMOST killed him.. and that is said from phunky himself.. ofcourse i can kill him with zerk.. but i cant 1shot him so not even that is an achivement.
phunky DO have 1337 gears suure.. but like a few others have said, he also have the playing skills.. wich many others lack, and it is THAT what makes phunky the "icon" if u set up 2 lvl70s with equal sp farmed and same weapon & same outfit with or w/o the sos, then i would still bet all my gold on phunky just becouse he have the skills to use the skills

Phunky is a extremly good player, he is fast, uses good combinations of when to attack and when to lure them around to take them out 1 by one.

I watched him pvp. He can take on alot, but like he said himself when he pvpd Tomoko, any pure int with a sos spear can take him out since his in armor. Even match tho, but yeah 99% of the players on xian maybe more cant take out phunky.

He is a legit awesome guy. I think he is worth this sort of thread for his character and personality.
