Got a question Can you also Host Silkroad Server from Game Servers ? Cuz most ppl host from their PC , but if i want to host it from Game server can i do it ?

Yes, you can, and we will. We aren't gonna start paying for a dedicated server box until we get it 100% playable.

Should I fill it in as agent server or gateway server?

Just asking because I still have an error where it never logs me in. It just keeps saying "Requesting user confirmation"

I'm Caspain in-game. I'm a rogue. It's kinda laggy over here, and pickup doesn't work very good, but it's fast and I get lots of drops.

Tried it, thought it was very laggy. The mobs just stand around, aren't moving. Other than that, looks like server has potential.

No it doesn't.

This is just a server running on the Srevolution emulator. He doesn't have the source code or anything so can't do any updates or troubleshooting himself. I know that for a fact because I even offered to buy the source code and was refused.

Furthermore, this is something that anybody could setup. The worst part being that he's running it on a home computer, that has such low connectivity speeds / performance; It made the server completely unplayable.

Just request a lock for this and end your dream while you still have some dignity intact instead of running a crap emulator which you don't have the code for.

This is clearly srevolution emulator. Same bugs as the early version of it.

lol you have to realize something, we do have the source code. We were given the source code to version 1.28, not 1.29. They got their source code from SSE. We got the source code, and then compiled it and tested it out. We didn't modify any of the credits, we don't steal. We will not share the source code, because we aren't supposed to. You'll see faster progress than their original. We've also working on saving skill slots, but we need the server side to read the clients skills in the ui, the save it to the database. Not as hard as tedious. So see you guys on :sohappy:

yah everything is gonna be down for awhile

We are packet analyzing iSRO for the right info to communicate between the server and client. We're taking this information and using it to form a better server. The cool thing is we got guilds working faster than expected, and we're almost finished with UI caches. :yay:

Well we have the source code, and we have the ambition. Though I'm not going to sugar coat things, I gotta be honest I don't if there will be a working server, but at least we'll give it a try. We wouldn't even attempt to do this if we didn't have the source code. It's all tedious trial and error, not the lack of knowledge.

If he can prove that he has the source and is actually able to fix things that the public release of Srevolution doesn't have then I will admit I was wrong (Which is something I very rarely do).

I'm sure he has the source. But he can't do sh*t with it. The emulator itself is made out of pure fail. he can't code himself so how do you expect him to add or fix anything? Better people have attempted to do this, and failed. Besides, it's coded in a crap language and doesn't even have linux support. Btw, He doesn't have the original silkroad source if that is what you are all thinking, he just downloaded some crappy emulator. The emulator is so flawed even a little kid can take it offline in 3 seconds.

your kindly mistaken. I do code, and yes, I've went through the code, and it's written very poorly. Though it gives us something to kick our feet off. We are also going through and finding all of Disconnection causes, and using the idea of an immediate ban before you're able to do whatever, it was already demonstrated when the guild system wasn't working. Though hopefully I can use python for the intercept. Then use the server file and the python file to communicate, because I code a lot better with python through networking at least, I'll see what I can do. They left a lot clean files so you can tell what they were planning for, but Fortress War blanks turn me off too lol
