USB Device Not Recognised.

I have been using the same mouse all summer and suddenly this mornning i plug in my mouse to play some games and is says USB Device Not Recognised. I plugged it into all the usb ports but it still doesnt work. Then i got my brother mouse and that didnt work in any of the ports either. Help?

maybe you need to reinstall the software of your mouse.

Yea i downloaded it from the microsoft website, still doesn't work. I installed the software and then opened it but it says No Microsoft Mouse detected.

This was a common problem on windows vista 64 bit if memory serves me..

I think the conclusion was to keep trying different ports while restarting or try a usb 1.1 instead of 2.0 port. Don't really remember though..

disable your usb ports via hardware manager


restart pc, and then enable them

This used to happen to me on Windows XP 32 bit. It would only start happening after I installed drivers from the disk that came with my motherboard (for sound, ethernet, etc.).

I never found a reason or a solution, only a work around.

I would have to leave the USB devices unplugged. After the Windows XP Loading screen, it flashes black before windows appears; I had to plug it in on that black screen.

It worked for about 2 minutes but then stopped working again.

It worked for about 6 minutes then stopped working again.

How the hell did this happen i use my computer before i go to sleep and mouse works. I wake up in the mornning, mouse doesn't work!
