Maintenance of a Pool

Post by Mirosuke »

Help? lol never had a pool, now since i got it... i really don't know to maintain it's water.
I googled everywhere, but i'm still unsure of what to do. I think is something that you cannot do or learn after just reading it...

I have bought Chlorine tablets and Shock treatment but i don't know how to use them. AFAIK the chlorine tablet you put them into a floating thingy and it's used to destroy microorganism and bacterias... The Shock treatment is like a powder.. that you pour directly into the pool water?
If i ever manage to do that, i still have check the lvls of idk what... even the pool looks good.
Idk how much is my pH, but that looks important... the water looks kinda greeny. =/
Any have some tips or something? ugh.... my dad doesn't want to call the guy who do the job, since it's "expensive" lol

if no one can help, just let it die.... :(

you need to keep it clean no surface shit, check the ph level (very important as acid can burn the more sensative parts of your body when in it) chlorine needs to be added aswell as other chemicals

thats all i know from what iv seen from 1 other person i know has a pool. they also said its a lot of hard work you spend more time cleaning it then using it

btw ph needs to be 7 or as close as you can get it to neutral (neutral is 7)

This is why we had a natural pool. Much nicer too without the chlorine.

CL should be around 2.0-3.5(ideal)

Ph should be 7.2-7.6(ideal)

You are going to have to backwash your filter to get rid of the green I believe. This also goes for when your pool becomes foggy. You will see the water coming out of the backwash pipe foggy as well, once it clears a little then you can turn it back to running normally. If you don't get what I mean, backwash for about 2min I believe it should be done about every week.

I'm sure other people on here have pools. I have a pool, and I'm a lifeguard and those are the CL and PH figures we have to keep for the public.
Joymax, what a joke. (Thanks to Grandpa for the sig)

We didn't just have a hole in the ground man. It was just like a regular pool for the most part, but we had some nice plants in there as well. The plants kill the algae and keep the water nice and fresh. It was seriously nice and clean.

I would send you a picture, but the Farking google maps link just stays maps.google.com all the time so there's nothing to link. How do I get that shit to work?

Top right corner of the 'map', there are a few buttons - print - mail - link.
Link button will give you a link of what you're looking at.

My parents always had a pool when I was growing up. My dad wasn't expert but whenever he had questions or concerns, he just went to the place that sells the chemicals. They always helped him out.
