Your situation is a perfect example of the ideological difference between Microsoft and Apple.

WIth Apple, everything is centralized and streamlined; it's like a socialist operating system. Yes you need iTunes, and yes it needs to be relatively updated. But, you get support from Apple and the quality of the store and services is great.

Some like it, some don't. For those that like it, it's consistent with every Apple product. When you use an iPhone, iPad, iMac, or Power Mac - they all "feel" the same and are connected.

And lol @ 30 minutes. I've spent days troubleshooting BSODs.

Yah they sync well, but with one program, I can get a zune sync with 20 different programs in half the time even! The itunes is so messed up in every way. Though knowing about computers helps with not having to worry with gui bloated software and just cut it down to performace

1) Apple products needing itunes is one of the most commonly known facts about apple products how you did not know this before buying one is stupid

iTunes is essentially the backbone of all of their products.. I don't know where you thought he would get apps from or other products. Honestly hating on a product isn't going to make things change. Actually the amount of people that hate apple is starting to dwindle when looking at all of the people with apple made products. The amount of macbooks, ipods, even iphones I see at my university is admirable. They are doing a great job with marketing their products and getting new buyers.

I don't think having to get itunes on your computer is a life or death move for the ipad then I don't know what to tell you. I am pretty sure there are far worst things people have had to do to set up products. I don't think ranting about it is going to get you far especially if you are going to continue to use it and not do anything about it. If it is really THAT bad, go return it and get that Toshiba or whatever tablet that just came out. In this case you are in the wrong for not doing enough research about something you thought was going to magically cater to your needs no matter who made it.

Never had trouble with itunes.. its a small download file that is rather easy to install and navigate through.. was really easy to set up my iphone 4 and ipad. Don't know which ipad you are using Chinese knockoff perhaps?
