Heres a trick i learned today.
After getting a bonus from my boss of $300 in the form of 3 AMEX giftcards i was trying to think of ways to get the cash and getting it into my bank account so i did this.
I Currently have one paypal account in my own name and my own bank account....
I called up AMEX and had them put in my girlfriends(doesnt have to be a gf, just anyone you know\related to) information so that the card can be used online, i then made a paypal account under that persons name and added a bank account so that its confirmed, i then proceeded to add the 3 amex giftcards onto that account and send it to myself, i then withdrew the money and now its in my bank account minus the paypal fee's.
Only thing is, you need 2 different bank accounts, one that your going to withdraw to, and one to use to verify the 2nd paypal account.
The end.
Another thing you can do is add the giftcards to your own paypal account and send the cash to someone you trust that has a verified paypal account and then have them send you back the money, not refund, but send back the money. This way you'll be charged double fee's but still if option 1 isnt available option 2 is a good alternative.
edit: YOU HAVE TO HAVE VISA ADD SOMEONES INFORMATION ON THE CARD, you have to perform this step so that paypal can verify the card when you add it to your account because they ask for the billing information.

or you can just activate the cards for online, then donate them to your paypal through another paypal account...

To send money to a paypal account in US it has to be verified.

I finally used the cards. I couldn't really find anything I really wanted.
I ended up finding a place that would manually charge me $100 and $25, and then the difference separately.
I used up the full cards, there was no $4 charge. ALthough the cards didn't cover the whole cost, I wouldn't have been able to afford it without.
