I get into the game and it crashes!

ok so i start up the game pick my charectar and load the game up. and as soon as i see the dragon in the town of janang it chrashes and brings me back to the desktop. im lvl 7 and had no problems like this earlier help please

Try it on another computer ?
Try different accnts?
Try reinstalling?

Hmm.. try closing your eyes when you get near the dragon.

sounds like something like the model or skin for the dragon got corrupted when you downloaded the installer or an update. Uninstall and reinstall SRO.

yeah i figured it out. when theres a lot of people on you have the possibleity of timing out from lag. i had that problem in WoW. isaved in ogrimmar with a server that was full and since its heavily poplulatd with players id time out jsut after loading :-P

i suggest getting on when ot a lot of people are on or just keep trying to connect

lol, I never ever have that problem cuz I have 5 megabit cable and I just checked today, with a firewall, router, and antivirus I got 4.4 megabits in an external test. You should get a connection with a better capacity, but just to make sure it's that, go to this site to test it: http://reviews.cnet.com/7004-7254_7-0.html
If it's under half the max rating of your DSL package (I assume you have DSL because not much else can go that slow) then move or switch to cable

If it's like 800 kbps or faster, then it's a problem with your computer. If U have XP, press ctrl-alt-del and go to the performance tab then start SRO and go to the fountain and do whatever it does when it freezes and disconnects then go back to the task manager and see if your Available Physical Memory was less than 25,000. If it was, you need more RAM. If it wasn't and your CPU usage graph was spiked up to 100% then you need a faster processor. Before upgrading any hardware though, turn the character draw distance to the minimum in game, that should help. If your connection and your system resources were fine then it's a glitch and you should reinstall

It looks like they increased the draw distance. 1 feels like 2. I have the same problem. I got lucky and made a new character and I never log off near the town. Im back to lvl 10 from 36 because I cant play my lvl 36 because of this.

Silverbolt :i get this stupid crash almost everytime i logon and my char is in the town sometimes its the ???? error sometimes it just crashes
So if it happens to die and the servers are crowded its really a pain in the ass
so everytime i log off i let may char way out of that stupid town
i also notticed that u have a bigger chance to crash if ur char is in crowded areas of town aka storage or that stupid respawn point

no its not bout the dragon.....happened to me in dw lol no dragons there...
