Empire Total War + Napoleon Total War Is It Worth It

I plan to pick up this game tomorrow so for those who have played it is it any good?

Totally worth it. Mechanics will be a bit hard for you to understand at first, bu after a while you'll learn

i have empire TW, great game, partially because i like the gunpowder age more so than medieval or roman (there are definitely ppl who think gunpowder destroyed the game). unfortunately there are very few ppl who play it online, might be because everyone moved to napolean TW for online play after it came out. i heard napolean is more polished than empire but i don't have it so i can't make any judgements there. only problem with the TW series is the crappy AI pathfinding during siege, but that's been a problem for all TW games. overall i think they are worth getting, especially if they are on sale.

Just picked up the gold edition seems pretty fun but really what the ****
Installing the game with steam had a **** load of problems
Custom battles suck major dick i swear what the hell happened to the CUSTOM battles i want to be able to have a shit load of money not low medium high
but other than that its fine...
if anyone knows how you can somehow mod the funds in the "custom" battles that would be great but overall its a very fun game
except for the fund problem...

Napoleon total war was pretty nice, except the navy battles, those sucked.

Go to the mods section and look for game play tweeks.

There is a mod called Epic portions mod, changes all values of units to 1 gold piece.

Brilliant mod, makes the game for more fun and real.

Now you can command an entire army of Old Guard.

Problem is, no one uses it in mp. Such a pity . . .
