Motherboard a quick question helpz

Post by AnemuS »

Hey guys well I am ashamed to even start a new topic about computer but with seems like everybody is buying a new computer this month ;-)

Anyways I bought a computer everything is fine (order still waiting 1 week before I get it )
So basically there is 6gb ddr3 1600mhz ram
Gainward 470gtx geforce
I5 760 quad 2.8ghz
550w fsp. Power supply
And this strange motherboard >>>>>ga-p55-us3l gigabyte<<<<
A very nice gaming case to cool down things
samsung 2233rz 22" screen with 120hZ support and 3d ready.
And rest of the crap which should have no affect on work in any way anyways.

So this motherboard , since idont have an idea about motherboards and never did , I have no clue if it's capable of running my gfx card normally, I really don't know and I don't have a computer to ask this on some tech forum , if I'd find a good one at all .
So please I just need to know if it bottlenecks my other specification in any way or something,
Maybe I should change it , as the order was made yeaterday I still have time to change it abit

Would like just a quick answer from people that understand this , is it good or shall I replace it .
Just to tell you I did try to check on google if it's good or not but the only answer I found was about some sli thing with gfx cards which made me afraid it may not be suitable for me or something..

Anyways sorry for big wall but please I need quick response ;-$ thanks in advance

Your motherboard is just a different model of the VERY good P55 series.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

204 reviews, rated 4/5.

You can read the specs there, and see what people comment.

In other words, it's fine mate. Great mobo.

I have the same motherboard.

Runs my stuff (Sapphire radeon HD 5770 vapor-x vid card etc.) easely.
Also comes with a little program for easy overclocking / heat monitoring / fan control etc.

Should be fine ^^

Ok Guys I was abit impatient so I went too fast I guess but I changed my motherboard to some other one still gigabyte but it's ga-x58a-ud3r well it worth more and I could find much more info about it , seems to be faster than what I had firstly .
Now I think it's a better one Fix me if I'm wrong and idiot thanks ;-)

It should allow me to upgrade system , and is able to run sli if I ever decide to get 2 cards .
Also I changed the ddr3 to 1333mhz speeds cause I found that most computers are not even able to run them at 1333mhz but close to 1100 and it also made it quiet cheaper and seem to be perfectly fine .

I didn't change the i5 tho eventho I could do that for around 100$ more but meh I think that i5 will perfectly suffice my needs . And I could upgrade anyway wen time comes.

Basically I've been learning all that crap for 3 days now , don't know if what I say is right , at least it sounds so.

Last computer I bought had only 8600gt card and some dual core which I don't even remember ;p

gona throw it out there but that $100 you could get back nd upgrade processor if you went down the build it yourself route. get a lot more bang for your buck if your willing to build it yourself

Well I could of still get thr i7 but I just don't have any reason for that as i5 does perfectly fine in game from reviews and people around the Internet .
Now sli option seems to be kind of important , and even that I don't know if I'll need , the games I plan to player nowhere near to even use my computer specs fully as of now , I'm sure I'd like to try some new things later on but , this later will probably be in around 1 year or close to it . Pretty sure the thing I've ordered is pretty amazing.

Keep in mind that computers here worth much more than in US and any other place , making it almost twice more expensive than most of you could buy it for ;p the computer as of now is 2023$ which is alot if you watch Internet prices .

computers are about the same world wide... thats equal to a £1500 comp for me

if your spending that much i near 100% would say build your self you can get a ultra high spec i7, crossfire computer in england for £1500 same give or take as $2000, depending on conversions

Yeah if you build it yourself you can definitely save yourself enough money to actually be able to build a better computer. You can upgrade on several things this way and your computer will be up to standards that much longer, saving you money in the future.

In all fairness, it would be stupid not to man. Find someone who can build it if you can't do it. :)

It just has so many plus sides as well. You learn, it's fun (especially big heatsinks :D :D ), and you don't get all this crappy bloatware ready to explode and annoy you to death over your years of ownership like Acer's shit programs like eManagement, ePower, eVideo, eWhatever. It's just empty, 100% yours, and you built it. That does it for me personally.

Well can't agree on the world wide prices here tbh , but hey I had to change the i5 to i7 cause the new motherboard doesn't support older proccessors , so basically I'm with a best things I could find , the comp was built bymyself except that getting it all set will be in the shop ...

Also well I learned alot this time , guess I'll just have to learn this time since this comp is pretty much gonna be used by my brother as well , but hey I'll try and improve knowledge of building the computers , next computer I'll be buying will be after I'm done with army and have my own house .
Now not important as much eventho I got some high end or near to it stuff.

Now have to wait 1 week to try it out , can't wait I wanna play the new cod at highest settings so much , have the game but didn't try it out yet I want to play with high fps and nice monitor ;-)
