The point isn't that these things do or do not occur, it's just the video plays on some kind of false optimism that would only lead to a falling crush if actually applied to life. Sure, people don't actually get mugged all of the time. But one should be realistic aware that these kind of incidents are quite common and that more than likely you will not avoid this situation simply be "embracing your inner spark". It's a load of shit I swear it.
As far as the cancer thing is concerned, you missed subtle attempt at a joke. The point I was trying to make is that if you have cancer (I don't wish it upon anyone, it's not a good thing) than chances are your life is going to be dramatically shortened. Sure, your not going to die on the spot (which would be sadistically funny to see in a Katty Perry video clip, hence the joke), but your pretty fucked none the less. Simply "embracing your inner spark" isn't going to do shit, because your going to die regardless. I'm not saying that you shouldn't enjoy the time you have left, don't get me wrong, but that it's a horrible analogy for Katty to use in this video clip.
A more appropriate scenario for her video clip would of been that of a girl being bullied at school. A few shots of her being bullied and crying, star wipe to Katty shooting fireworks out of her chest, than straight back to the girl "embracing the spirit", growing a pair and simply ignoring the bullies with an aura of confidence. It has actual life applications as bullies typically prey on the weak, as opposed to a set target, and ignoring them with confidence will convey the idea of strength and within time they will simply get bored and move onto someone else.
Basically, your taking my examples to literally and not reading into the concepts I was trying to imply. I have spelled out two of them above for you to help you understand my opinion on the idealistic nature of the video clip. If it doesn't make sense to you now, then I simply give up trying to explain it.
Oh, and seriously, my name isn't that hard to spell is it? Like, you do realise you can just copy and paste it, right? Or even just quote my post so it makes it clear that your referring to me? Or perhaps, just maybe, develop some basic comprehension skills and be able to read a 9 letter word without questioning your own ability to read said word. Maybe I'm just asking too much, I know how hard those single digit words can be

MrTwilliger wrote:I would of liked it if the song wasn't some optimistic dribble spawned from pure fantasy and was actually a satirical play on reality. Like, when the guy is approached in the alley way, it would be been nice to actually see him get mugged and stabbed. And when the girl goes to jump in the pool, it would of been nice to see everyone just get out and leave. And the boy with cancer should of just died right on the spot. See, at least then it would be accurate and realistic
