The cafeteria door is barred, and chained; in the comic the cafeteria is just barred, he takes the wooden plank off the door and opens the door, and he gets chased out of the hospital by zombies.

I was wondering why he wouldn't let them out because he didn't know they were dead, he didn't know what was going on all he saw were people's hands and he's a cop so I figured the was gonna help them out. The comic makes more sense.

In the comic he tries to take the elevator down. After it opens up, a half-eaten body plops out and Rick gets scared and runs. He comes to the cafeteria, which only has a wooden plank through the door handles in the comic (there's no writing warning him away, nor no chains, which is why he opens it in the comic)

I like how just like in the comic its going to focus on the characters
rather then the zombies...which all the great zombie movies have done
anyway...its more about people reacting in a certain situation rather
then the situation itself and how you would deal with it

From the comics we get the notion that getting bitten isnt the only way to get infected.

Mate...your missing the point, the story isnt about zombies its about PEOPLE, and how they react
in a situation that they are not used to.
This could of been a story about a terrorist attack or about an earthquake and it would still of
had the same impact. Its about people...zombies are just a back setting as noted in the comic,
the most dangerous encounters are with other humans, and not the undead.

Well, who knows how long the zombie apocalypse has been going on for. If he is protecting her, and her kid in a time of his stress, I don't see why they wouldn't be together. Put yourself into the guys shoes. He thinks his friend is dead and he decided to take care of his friends family. Giving him some nookie is the least she could do to thank him.

They said they were on their way to Atlanta when his wife got zombified. They could've only been in the town for a week or two.

From what i remember from reading the 1st book he is in his coma for
months..i cant remember the actual number but its either 2-3 months.
