getting it that late is just as good as not getting it, you should have had it by his first (extraordinarily late) push.

Never works for me =(

I think if you're in any league under platinum you can 13 gas 13 pool, get speed lings and win with about 10 of them. If it works in platinum and diamond..

I'm stuck in the bronze league. :palm:

I could just do a 4 gate push every game and likely win most of them but I don't feel I would learn anything that way.

Likewise. I could win all my games with proxy cannons, but it eventually gets boring and I don't feel like I'm learning. There's so many units out there, wish there was a viable build for all of them. That being said, I have a question.

I remember during my last placement game, I went against a Zerg player. That guy was amazing. His builds consisted of Infector that kept spawning Infected Marines, totally raped me. Anyone got the build order of this build?

6 pooling works all the time against bronze since they have crap macro/micro and are slow as hell!

don't have to do that, your miners can kill all 6 lings with only 1 death, 0 if you can micro well.

Again, depending on how good your oponent is, if hes in the bronze league he will most likely not be fast enough to wall in, he will probably not scout early enough and if hes toss he wont wall in anyway unless he knows before hand that im 6 pooling.

I recently played a game where my oponent was told beforehand that I would be 6 pooling and he BARELY was able to get his wall up (the wall included a cannon) and he managed to stop my 6 lings, otherwise even if he walls in you'll probably get in anyway due to lack of macro.

I think it was fruitdealer that 6 pool'ed a toss on mlg (correct me if im wrong) It was definitely a tournament...so a 6 pool worked against a really good toss, u mad? :|

Silly az thinking 6 pooling only works against bronzies. ______________________________________________________________________________________________
Kim, Won-Ki(a Fruit Dealer) Zerg vs Song, Jun-Hyuk (oGsInCa) Protoss

Game 1 Kulas Ravine

In the first game of the second match of RO8 GomTV GSL tournament puts Fruit Dealer in the northeast base and oGsInCa in the southwest. Fruit Dealers immediately moves into a 6 pool strategy. The rush produces a small 6-pack of Zerglings.

Fruit Dealer nearly loses a breakthrough into the base by not using his Drone to block InCa’s wall attempt. The Zerglings and probes go head to head after the Zerglings take out InCa’s sole pylon powering his gateway. InCa does get a pylon back up while the Probes hold off the Zerg and get a Zealot on the field to clear the zerglings.

The damage is extensive to InCa’s mineral line and he isn’t able to keep up with Fruit’s zerg reinforcements dispite pushing out an addition couple of Zealots. A quick GG from oGsInCa.

1900 T diamond rated player here.

6 pool has never worked against me. Has failed time after time. Even in a 4 player map.

6 pooling will only take you so far. And even if you beat a high diamond player with it, it doesn't automatically means it works vs other good players.

Plus 6 pooling isn't fun. Worker rushing FTW.

Almost nearly impossible to lose 0 worker and kill all 6 zerlings. Even if the Z is supermegahypernoob enough to just attack your workers in your mineral line.

Do show a replay.

I recommend that instead of laddering, you get a practice parnert and practice, well duh.. lol

If you put enough time + effort (which I'm sure you will, knowing you back from SRO), you should easily get to low level diamond.

I'm sure your apm is as very low(no offense, just an educational guess), but that doesn't matter. I often play high rated diamond players that all they do is 4 gate all in with 50 apm. Hell, I'm sure when they watch the replays vs me, they ask how a 2/3 rax can easily defend/beat their 4 gate all in. The answer is the 200 apm/micro. But, don't worry about your apm atm.

Now, that you are a noobie it is the best time to learn to play standard builds with some variations depending on what your opponent does. My advice to you and noobies across this forum is to play safe builds, such as 2 gate into expo; 2gate+1robo into expo; 2 rax into expo; 14pool into expo, etc.

If there are noobie Terrans out there that want to see some of my replays, I'd be glad to post some replays to help out.

Is it worth it to Scout in Silver League. I'm under the impression I'm just wasting a worker(while he could mine or something). There's no point for me to see my opponents build because I won't and don't know how to counter it. Seeing as my only strategy is 4 Gates.

Cheese builds are common in low level leagues.

The hard counter to cheese builds is to scout. Once a cheese is scouted early, you should win easily. Assuming you know how to counter it.

Assuming your opponent has the same skill level as you. And assuming he is T. You most definitely have to scout. If he plans to go all in like you, he would probably put 3-5 rax. And that's the HARD counter to 4 gate all in.

Therefore when you scout this you shouldn't be going 4 gate anymore.

Same goes when your opponent is Z/P.

Moral of the story? You gotta learn other builds other than 4 gate.

And SC2strategy is great for overall strategy, but day9 gets into details throughout the whole game.

None of them would help you as much as yourself watching your own replays and see what went wrong.

You need to be able to understand the strategies by Force and why do them in certain occasions. You would also need to know when not to do the strategy because it will utterly fail.

Day9 won't help you unless you actually listen to what he says and not what he screams. Day9 was entertaining for me for few days... after that all he says are newbie stuff that don't help me much.
