The Diablo Series?

Ok well iv never played any of them.. and my guess is diablo 2 is reallllllyy old just by things iv seen etc.. but alot of people seem to be into it etc and i know nothing about it lol? i think its coz i wasnt really into mmo's back wen that came out was all cod and bf2 wen i started pc gaming..

i was just wondering a few things.. do i have to pay monthly for it like wow(coz i know its from blizzard)

is it worth me getting diablo2 before diablo 3 ( i know this was asked on forums but that was by someone that played it before i think)

the graphics in the videos make it seem pretty dated or something idk - are they bad ingame?
